Evening,
I've noticed a few people commenting on how Mods have been starting Match day threads before people get a chance. To explain a little, like I did to the staff in the private mod/admin area. Over the last few months, since the very early weeks of the season it has become noticeable how clubs with less fans on 1FF have stopped starting Match day threads and thus - internal traffic (the amount of pages current members are navigating too) has slowed down a bit. External traffic (IE - signups, people logging in each day) is constantly on the rise, but we want to ensure that we grab as many of the newbies/less regular members in and keep them coming back on a more frequent basis.
As of last weekend, we set a new system up whereby.
- Any fixture without a Match day thread by Thursday Evening/Friday morning for a Saturday fixture will be started by a mod
- Any fixture without a Match day thread by Monday evening for a Tuesday/Wednesday fixture will be started by a mod.
That way, there's enough chance for people to get in any groovy match titles, or previews to a match as they please. It also ensures that there is a back up and a place for people to post if they can't already see one or didn't have time to start one etc.
To back up this theory that we can pick up more posts by less regular members in doing this..
As you can see - Saturday was comfortably the busiest posting day on site for the entire month. Yes it was international break previously, but there was a couple of game weeks whereby all 4 domestic divisions played and this weekend still smashed what had gone previous by almost 250 posts. Obviously it's only a couple of hundred posts, but it's the nitty gritty that is important in making 1FF what we want it to be - the best Football Forum on the net and by doing so, we want to constantly increase traffic, signups, posts and threads.
Hope this clears up any issue going forward - it's simply a measure to ensure that everyone has the best possible chance to join in with threads on site and ensure that we are always moving forward at 1FF. It also allows people a few days in between fixtures to start any threads they wish.
Cheers.
