Tuesday evening sees the meeting of two in form sides at the New York Stadium, as Steve Evans' Rotherham United play host to Kit Symons' Fulham side under his caretaker charge. Both teams have enjoyed a win on their last outing, with Rotherham beating Leeds 2-1, and Fulham beating Norwich 1-0.
Rotherham have no fresh injury concerns since their last game, with Alex Revell as keen as usual to retain his regular starting place in the squad. The main question still appears to be a permanent replacement for Becchio, with Derbyshire starting against Leeds, then being replaced by match winner Jonson Clarke-Harris, however it is likely that the latter will be given his first chance at starting the game and getting a good performance in against the London based opponents. Youngster John Swift made the bench on Friday night, so it will be interesting to see where he fits in tomorrow night. For Fulham, they will be relying on the multi-million pound summer signing Ross McCormack, and strike partner Hugo Rodallega to spearhead the attack against Millers keeper Adam Collin, who had an incredible second half against Leeds on friday night. Under the caretaker charge of Kit Symons, Fulham have recorded numerous wins, and will be looking to continue on their 1-0 win over high-flyers Norwich with 3 points against Rotherham. The Millers have also had good results recently, unbeaten in three games and picking up 7 points from them, they will look to prove the relegation odds wrong once again when they walk out onto the pitch against a side that was 2 divisions away from them just 6 months ago.
In terms of a result, I can see this game playing out to a draw. It is a game with two fairly in form sides, that have been scoring a healthy amount of goals, and picking up points. The main battle will take place in the middle of the park, with Scott Parker and Lee Frecklington holding very similar attributes in terms of work rates, and whichever team can control the midfield, will most likely have a better chance of bagging the three points. I expect Alex Revell to give the back line a handful of trouble, backed up by Clarke-Harris, and Paul Taylor on the right, who still somehow awaits his first Millers goal. Fulham will also be causing the same trouble, with McCormack and Rodallega running at Morgan and Arnason whenever they can.
My prediction - Rotherham 1-1 Fulham
