Morecambe at home for us, in what should be a decent attendance for our first home game back in League 2.

The Morecambe fans on their forum seem confident of at least a point for them. Oliver certainly caused us a problem or two for York last season so it won't be an easy game.

Morecambe always do this starting off well in August and then fading away, credit to them though for holding their own in this league for so long now especially after every pundit has them and Accrington to get relegated every season.

Crawley at home. We might be a bit shattered after extra-time on Tuesday, but hoping the win at Oxford gives the players some confidence to push on in the League.

We really could do with getting a good start at home as well.

It will be great to get back to Sincil Bank to watch a FL game. Should be a gate of around 7,000 and hopefully a win to banish that awful defeat in our last FL home game. Morecambe will be a tricky test but I think we'll have too much for them.

Fingers crossed the electronic gates work and we'll be able to get in!

Kevin Ellison still playing for Morecambe at 38. Just looked it up and couldn't believe he only played 11 games on loan for us?! I was adamant he was here for a season or 2. Anyway great player for us even if it was just the 11 games.
Remember him getting stick when he came back to the bank with Chester think he scored then went nuts at the co-op haha. Very good player.

They're a close game, but there's never been a sniff of a rivalry.

I personally haven't seen him yet, but Sellers has been getting rave reviews and was arguably motm in bot our competitive games to date.

He stayed at my mates house when he was here on loan for that couple of months. Can't believe he's still going.

Fair to say our season starts today.

I do not have high hopes after a couple of decent results for Accrington. Hopefully the team vs Wolves turns up rather than the team vs Luton.

Barry Roche is still very good at goalkeeping.

Should have been 4 or 5 up at HT. Brilliant first half. Paid the price early second half conceded, great strike by their lad.

Weren't really at it second half, every time we got any momentum a Morecambe player would go down for treatment. One of Cowley's favourite tricks so can't really complain.

Eardley and Long had good games at full back which is encouraging seeing as we were worried about that position going into the season. Thanks for Matt Green Mansfield, 20 goals right there.

Overall very impressed first half. We'll be up there. Morecambe looked poor offered very little but battled well.

Yeah, play that game another 99 times and we win all of them. Bit of a travesty we've not won it really with all the chances we had.

Roche pulled out 2 or 3 worldies and I'm not sure Farman even made a proper save. Morecambe's guy did it an outrageous 40 yarder that whacked the bar in the first half and it was a good finish for their goal, although you've got to stop the cross. It looked like JMD had a chance to put the ball into touch 2 or 3 times.

You can still tell there are a few bits that needing ironing out but our starting point this season is way, way higher than last.

Morecambe were incredibly limited. They played like a mid-table NL side who technically were very poor and just very workmanlike and being street wise.

Green is exactly what Cowley was looking for all of last season and the closest he got was Theo Robinson (who did well for us).

Welcome to him. He's a good lad and will do well. He just isn't good enough for a side aiming for the top 7, so he'll probably suit you more. That said, we've Angol was terrible for us today and we've still to recruit this top notch forward were expecting.

Morecambe are notorious for being a plucky and annoying side to break down, always reminded me of Braintree in the conference under Devonshire

I don't understand why some people are so bothered about it. If you're so interested in reading about other matches, surely you can just look at individual threads?

I like reading other match threads but I don't wanna trawl through messages about Luton's superstars etc. to find a message on our game. I'm sure most people don't want to read through our threads either!
