Ahh shit, for some reason thought it was a FGR. Oh well same rule applies, just read away team.

Doesn't really matter, home or away, we should be winning pretty much every game from now on. If they're dodgy at the back we've got the fire power to punish them. We just need to go in with an attacking mentality.

Our home form has improved dramatically since McCombe and Caton arrived(4 wins in a row).
However we haven't won away from home since a win at Torquay on November 21st, need to change if we're to have any chance of making the playoffs.

And just to show how long ago that was, we played Torquay when all was right with Hearn partnering Rhead. Seems like a lifetime ago, agreed we need to get a win, or try to get at least 4 points out of Macc and Dover away which won't be easy.

Meh, whatever. Been telling everyone we won't make it, but I guess it's a rare bit of excitement for the other Lincoln fans to cling to.

Next season is more important.

Dover`s antics at Prenton Park were, quite frankly, a disgrace to football. Shirt pulling, diving, severe time wasting etc etc. Every nasty trick in the book. We even had one of their players, supposedly, spitting at a somebody in the crowd. Horrible horrible team. Little wonder they get such pathetic crowds. Words can`t describe how much I want to beat them, If Southport can win there so can we but a lot depends on whether or not McNulty, who IMO despite his waist line is currently the best CB in this League, plays and if Brabin finally sees the light and decides that Higdon is a useless tub of lard and drops him.

I'll be fascinated to see who Barry Smith picks today. The only certainty is that Lafayette will start (the only one who really turned up on Tuesday). It would be a big statement to drop McGinty and Oastler (team and club captain) and Smith (clear no.1 keeper) but maybe its a statement worth making as they were the 3 worst culprits on Tuesday. I would personally go for:

Thomas

Alexander
Beckles
Saville
Richards

D.Walker
Gallagher
Hatton
Browne

Lafayette
Pavey

We travel to Barrow under our "Brave New World" management regime ie our just-sacked manager's assistant manager.

You'll be glad to know we've seemingly given up for the season. You'll want it more and probably scrape a one goal win. Unless you are totally shit?

Probably not totally shit, but we aren't difficult to deal with, and there's never a plan B.

Havn't really seen much of McNulty so can't really comment on how good he is, but the consistently brilliant Josh Gowling performances this season means I would be staggered if there is a better CB than him at the minute.

McNulty>>>>>Gowling.
The man is an absolute beast, and a key part of 2 different teams title wins. Gowling is a run of the mill journeyman conference centre half.

Whatever you say Christopher. :2thumb:

Unfortunately I have to agree with the fool this one time. McNulty is by the best CB in this division, with the proviso he has someone quick alongside him. He has the best football brain in a defender I've seen in a long time, it's his positional play that makes him so good.

The lads a beast, reads the game brilliantly and is a surprisingly good footballer given his size. Seen both against us several times, know which one I'd rather play against. He would walk into any team in this league.

Any man who looks like he could wrestle a bear and still have time for a few pints afterwards gets my vote. Gowling looks like he'd cry if you made a joke about his hair. McNulty looks like he'd rip your head off and eat it.

I am not saying McNulty is not a very good CB, like I said I have not seen him play so I will take everyones word for it that he is excellent, but for ChrisFGR to say Gowling is 'run of the mill' is ridiculous as he has been superb this season.
If the general consencus is that McNulty is better then that is fair enough for me I will accept that, but Gowling run of the mill, tut tut tut ChrisFGR...... :dis:

We would be alongside Cheltenham and FGR if we had managed to get him in July when we first tried. If we don't go up this season we will next as our budget won't drop off like Cheltenhams will if they fail to go up.

Our new training facility which would better almost anything up to the lower reaches of the Championship will be finished in the summer, giving better preparation to the players and a new revenue stream to the club.

But I thought your problem was battering teams but not taking your chances as has been mentioned many times this season?
Didn't know McNulty was a Centre Forward...........

Gowling is a very good player. Of what I've seen of them both in the past I'd rate McNulty as better. He reads the game better than any defender I've seen at this level.

That said I haven't seen much of either this season.

I'm going 2-0 Shots, all the madness of midweek blows over and we'll be 1 point behind Woking come 5pm.

Gowling was easily the best CB we've had for years. Him and Dunkley formed one of the best if not the best partnerships in the division at the time. McNulty is also a great CB but I can't see past Gowling.

McNulty was legendary with us, though I wasn't greatly impressed in the 3-4 match at our place in January.

We lacked leadership, those games where we did that Eastleigh, Barrow, Dover etc we should have been able to keep it tight and ensure at worst we got draws, yet we conceded soft goals.

Our finishing has been abysmal all season, we've just been a lot harder to score against since the New Year because of McNulty.

If McNulty was skinny and thus have a bit more pace, he'd be League 1 easy. He doesn't even have to move to get to the ball because he knows where it'll be. Second best centre-back I've seen in the conference, behind Nathan Pond, he was fucking insane.
