From what I've seen Grimsby are the best side in this league bar none. Cheltenham weren't all that both times we played them. Honesty think we could beat anyone over two legs in the play offs. Be a tragedy of Forest Green go up over Grimsby though
I know Adalsteinn is ultimately being a phallus of epic proportions, but I don't see FGR overcoming Grimsby at Wembley at all. Which is what it'll end up as, let's be real.

I like your optimism, but my current gut feeling is we'll get dumped out the playoffs in the semis against Dover or Tranmere or something (basing this on nothing but consistent disappointment in my Grimsby Town supporting lifetime).

A comprehensive hoof ball 2-0 win for us.
It wasn't pretty, but it worked and they say its all about the points at this stage of the season, rather than the performance.
Bromley were poor.
We have put ourselves back in the mix with 3 straight wins & 2 clean sheets on the bounce. WTF?

Might not. We were a country mile behind Sutton and Bromley (2nd and 3rd) in the 2014 season and we still won the play offs. Cliched, but the play-offs really are a lottery.

And you seen one Cheltenham game all season. Do you know how foolish your statement appears to the knowledgeable and erudite amongst us.

When we play well, we are the best team in the league. Sadly, that just doesn't happen enough and that's why we draw so many games, against inferior opposition (sorry Torquay and Guiseley fans).

I've heard your games on BBC Humberside and you are not the best team by any distance. The top two are way ahead regarding quality of the team.

Almost as foolish as stating he's basing his opinion on one Cheltenham game this season when he actually commented on both.

I've actually watched you 3 times in person and a couple on TV, but let's not get caught up on the details

Is this the same FGR that Grimsby played off the park on TV the other week? Cheltenham will win the League, deservedly as by far the best side in the division. There's nothing between the rest despite the illusion created by the Stepford Whores FC points gap. Guisly repeatedly finished second in Conference North and always fell short in the Play-offs. I'm looking forward to Vince's "invincibles" meeting Grimsby in the play offs. Grimsby will humiliate them, again. :ds:

The league table doesn't lie. The top 2 are streets ahead.

And yes Grimsby beat us, but "played off the park", no chance. We were poor that night, but despite that could easily have won and we wont play like that against them again. The pressure was all on us that night, they had nothing to lose. If we do meet in a play-off final, the pressure will be more on them. They're desperate to go up.

That being said, looking at our fixtures if we win at Tranmere this weekend, I think we might actually win the league. After our long run of tough away games, to still be at worst 2 points behind Chelts would be a brilliant effort.

And you're not desperate to go up? You're losing £2m a year which Dale Vince said will stop when you go up, you've spunked an absolute fortune trying to get promoted for years now and you've been in this wretched league for what, 18 years now?

No, the top 2 are much more consistent, that is the only difference.
If we were at our best and you were at your best, we would win and i think you know that.

The top two do not have the best teams mearly the best managers give fatty that cheltenham side and they would soon become mid table

I honesty don't think there is much at all between the top 3 teams. THE biggest difference is that Cheltenham have the best manager by a country mile.

As things stand you're set to play Grimsby in the play-offs. So on your logic it would be a tragedy if you beat them?

I'm pretty sure Grimsby are more desperate to go up then we are. Doesn't mean we don't want to.

And yep 18 years now. For most of those we've just been happy to be here, bit like yourselves. We are probably the only club that haven't gone anywhere since the last time you were in this league, I remember a few relegation 6 pointers. This is a great league for clubs of our size, not sure why you describe it as wretched. It's the best league your club (and mine) have ever played in.

We're happy to be here, because we've been away for so long and I'm just happy to be in a league with big sides and good away days, like you said. It felt like we were in the Conference South for an eternity and that was only 5 years. A club with ambitions such as Forest Green will surely be hugely disappointed and frustrated to still be in this division if you don't go up this season. As I said, you have spent a fortune and should really have gone up by now. It is a wretched league because of the 2 up 4 down nonsense.

Haha, what does this even mean? They are 'consistently' better over the course of a season but they aren't really better? Or something. I'm far from a FGR sympathiser but they have done the business so far this season, overdue as it is. The top 2 are the best sides by a distance this season, that's why they have been streets clear for months. A whole season's work from the runner-up can go up in smoke with a bad 45 minutes in the playoff SF though, as we know...

Just my opinion thats all.
How i mean it is that all 3 teams are very good sides when they play well, but those 2 have obviously done it more times and also managed to grind out a lot of ugly wins than we have and are well clear because of that. But in a one off (or 2) match in the play offs, I would fancy us to beat FGR although not necessarily Cheltenham.

We've got very lucky in a few games this season, but when we've been on it I don't think I've seen a better team. I know I'm biased, but when the team clicks I haven't seen a better Cheltenham team in getting on for 10 years, and I include the 11/12 team that reached the League 2 playoff final in that.

We have been without doubt the most consistent team, 3 defeats all season, 2 of them in September, both of those being sucker punch goals in injury time of games we've dominated. At least 3 times we've gone behind late and scored even later goals to get points, twice in added time (Braintree and Welling). The workrate of this team is genuinely second to none in this League, and even if we are pipped to the title by FGR, who you have to credit for sticking with us the whole way, I can honestly say I couldn't be prouder of the players.

I don't think anyone can argue that Cheltenham have been the best side over the course of the season. FGR have ground their way through it efficiently, Grimsby have flattered to deceive and Cheltenham have just been the best side.

If they didn't win the title it would be a bit of a travesty really.

So for Grimsby it's gone from "we have an outside chance of catching the top 2 - win all of our next three difficult games and then beat Cheltenham and then we're ONLY THREE BEHIND"

Draw with Guiseley.

Ah well we have no chance of catching the top two. But we're better than them anyway despite what the league table says. We beat Forest Green in one game so we'll just ignore the other 35.

We also beat REALLY GOOD FOOTBALL LEAGUE TEAMS in pre season friendlies which definitely has an impact on competitive league games.

Yep - massively unsettled about a team 20 points above Woking. Didn't realise there was a rule on here that you had to agree with everything's Grimsby fans say?

For what it's worth, I would actually rather Grimsby got promoted that FGR or Cheltenham due to the fact it's miles away

I don't think its the fact that you don't agree that he is talking about.
It is that you keep repeating the same sort of things in all of your posts about us.
