I was disappointed to hear how we played today, given the attacking intent we showed at Cheltenham, which I thought would be the harder game.

Harsh, but I would go as far as to say it is one of the worst performances I have ever seen, if not the worst ever performance. Even in the bad days under Holdsworth and Scott we at least came remotely close to scoring. Today we wouldnt have scored if we were playing now. I have seen Joe Hart have busier days against San Marino than the Wrexham keeper had today.

Moke is a revelation so far. He's been awesome. There's no way he could be dropped.

Moke has said in the past that he prefers playing central midfield, that he's more suited to playing there. How often has he played there in his professional career? Only remember him on the wing for Macclesfield.

Anyway, I think the World needs to listen more to Adriano Moke because he' s looking like a much better central midfielder than winger in a Wrexham shirt.

So much of this is true. We were bloody awful. Not terrible at the back but once the ball got past Gary Jones we couldn't either hold it up or even go past a full-backs to win a free kick / corner / throw-in / some sympathy. Cheltenham were nothing amazing and looked like a side who will be not far from the play-off, but my God we were shocking. This is a long journey home. Get Brodie back!

It was clear you'd come with a game plan of not to concede. Thought Cameron looked decent on the ball, but everytime he looked like losing it he'd go looking for a free-kick, in one case actually changing direction to force himself over one of our defenders' legs.

The problem was that once you did concede there was no plan b and your team at no point tried to get back into it. After the 1st went in, it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Something must be wrong in the stars if a Steve Burr managed side has the joint best defensive record in the league, utterly weird.

Anyway, quietly pleasing result for us today, doubt many will go down there and win, they're a strong home side so happy with a point. We had the best chances to win it with Hannah and Hobson hitting the woodwork but a draw the fairest result.

Last season, on paper, our defence looked rubbish but was I always sure our midfield was just too open in front of it, the inclusions of George and Shaw have made us much more solid.

Playing defensive and centrally should suit him, no need to worry about having no end product there!

Fair play to the lad, good to hear he's going well. His energy and pace will no doubt be a huge help getting around the pitch behind Jennings.

Yeah, Moke's patchy end product and questionable shooting ability was evident in pre-season. Mills started him wide in a three, but he soon dropped down the pecking order behind Vose and York, with Adam Smith waiting in the wings.

But running his heart out with pace, either covering defenders or driving forward, always available, always finding his team mates who can do the final third creative stuff really suits him.

Such a likeable personality too.

Is there a Mobility Scooter factory in Braintree where there's a staff discount because I've never seen so many people riding around on them in one place before. And do they come with free Man Utd tops because they seem prolific with the riders.
I thought Braintree was a nice town centre and spent a very pleasant sunny pre match afternoon in the market place pubs, the Bull and the Nags. Not a Braintree shirt in sight, plenty of Ipswich and West Ham shirts though.
I thought Braintree put on a good display considering their team is financed on the back of sub 1000 crowds. From a Tranmere point of view the game was awful, the highlights being the Braintree ultra with the loud speaker and when ever the ball went out of the ground, watching the ball boy retrieve it from nettle bushes.

You haven't had the full Braintree experience though, i.e. when they were good and managed by Devonshire. On a cold, wet midweek game in front of about 900 where they smash you 3-0 and you come back on the bus calling your players "wage thieves".

Haha! Sure we've got some of those games to come this season, winter is on its way. Some of our fans have reacted as though we were beaten 3-0... :bl:

When Mills football clicks it really is a joy to watch, that was the most pleasing game of football I've seen in a few years. To say we dominated the game from start to finish would be an understatement. The Shots 15 looked a good player but they were so bad, looked a real relegation team. They just sat off us all game and let us pass them to death, I'd like to see how we cope when a team is pressing us at the back. I know Fyfield is regarded as very average, but some of his raking passes today were unreal for a Conference CB. Can't see Hudson getting back in the team and Lee Fowler is still yet to even feature this season because Mills has made centre midfielders out of both Jennings and Moke.

Very much an arms aloft performance.
Just so you know I liked just your final sentence. I have no time for phrases like "Mills football", but you pulled me back in.

Or when you get tanked 5-1 on your own turf - by far the worst result and match I've ever seen.

Horrendous first half and we were lucky to get all 3 points. No idea where we would be without Ryan Bowman, performances need to improve otherwise we are in for another mid table season

I think Rovers did do an overnighter for the Braintree game, but judging by player tweets about 6 hour journeys it wasn't by plane. However good psychology by the home chairman as it certainly sounds like the hosts were more fired up for this game.

Christ alive, the Wrexham fans have officially spaffed themselves. It's mid-August boys. At home to a side that will probably be in the bottom third of the table.

I'm going to put it down to post-Wilkin exuberance.

This. I also agree that some of the ballooning confidence (you should see our forum) is simply a reaction to how shit we were last season which, fortunately, I didn't have to see too much of.

There's no getting away from the fact that we looked really good on Sat but, at the end of the day, we've beaten two sides (Torquay and Aldershot) who just didn't bother to turn up: and I thought Torquay were relegation material until I saw Aldershot.
