The bloke in charge of the fixtures has seemingly given everyone a nice local game for the bank holiday weekend:
Aldershot v Eastleigh
Altrincham v Tranmere
Barrow v Southport
Boreham Wood v Woking
Bromley v Dover
Guiseley v Gateshead
Kidderminster v Forest Green
Lincoln City v Grimsby Town
Macclesfield v Chester
Torquay v Cheltenham
Welling v Braintree
Wrexham v Halifax

I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but I think Lincoln are playing someone or other... I'm far more interested in the high calibre Cheshire derbies between Maccs and Chester, and Alty and Rovers! Looking forward to our trip to Alty, although we usually lose whenever we take decent numbers away.

No idea if Hannah is injured or not but we should still be capable of a win imo.

Never been to Macc before so looking forward to it, am I right in thinking there is no roof on the away end?

Usually do alright vs boreham wood, hopefully we'll have a couple hundred of fans there and pick up a win.

Like going to Kiddy, fairly close, great food and it's usually a pretty good game. I like the Harriers Arms as well, nice pub with decent atmosphere.

Be interesting to see how Hodgkiss and Styche are doing, both good players for us and top lads to boot. I gather Jared has done very well but Reece has yet to really impress, but does have a lot of sponsors apparently.

We need to be right at it as it will be a tough game, expect it to be tight.

He only has a lot of sponsors because our online forum sponsor him so people on the forum chip in for the sponsorship.

But I'm also looking forward to the game will be interesting to see if Styche is chosen over Singh after Styche's suspension.

Only going to end one way, neither Mills nor Wrexham have beaten Aspin in a league match since he brought us into the Conference. :bdick:

You're lucky to get food or drink at Macc in the away end. They always end up running out having only cooked 18 pies, 27 burgers and having enough hot water for 43 cups of tea/coffee.

I'd like to think Rovers won't be as poor as the Boreham Wood game, but not confident of that. Suppose it's a good time to be playing Altrincham with all their injury problems, but not expecting an easy ride. Draw most likely result.

Doesn't "El Grassico" (with acknowledgement to CrazyImp) deserve its own thread?

But then I suppose if we had one then those associated with the tinpot North West derbies at Altrincham and Macc would want one as well...

For anyone after making some easy money, stick some on Lincoln v Grimsby both teams to score.
We can't defend balls into our box (7 out of our 8 goals conceded this season have been from crosses into our box), and I expect to get a lot of balls in our box from Lincoln, but we will also definately score as well.
Absolute banker of a bet.

We travel to Solihull Moors.

Our starting is all the more worrying at this is the first time we have played someone who will be near the top coming the end of the season. If we defend like we have been doing it could be carnage.

Actually dreading our game at home to Southport. I'm sure we've got a team capable of battering them, but it's always the way that a team due a win gets it against Barrow.
Anything other than a win and our fans will go into meltdown, probably calling for the manager's head. Stupid really.
It'll be 6-1 to Barrow, or 0-1 and have us on a downer for Monday's game too. Weird that it almost feels make or break so early in the season.

So, here it is, as Limerick said, El Grassico.....

We'll lose, the Cods will refuse to budge again on principle, we've had our two victories out of them for the next decade. On my bloody birthday weekend as well.

If we did somehow win, I expect Hurst to be in the stocks in Cleethorpes town centre on Sunday, mouldy mackerels flying at him from every angle.

I just hope we don't go with a flat 4-4-2. We've not got the legs in there to make it work.

Wood will probably come in for Bush, with Beevers moving back to LB.

From the East Leicestershire and Rutland Mariners we'll provide ripe stilton and stale pork pies to chuck at him...

I did think similar myself, but I've had that many spats with ChrisFGR that I couldn't be arsed to start another one so I kept schtum!

They'll regard it as wholly unacceptable to lose to us for the third time running. Hurst doesn't dare lose this one or his goodwill will have officially run out.

Would snap your hand off for a point, fortunately I'm on the ale for 2.5 hours beforehand so I probably won't remember the majority of it.

I wouldn't begrudge the heavy majority of the Grimsby posters on here three points either, bar possibly one, they're a top set of people.

It all depends on the weird and wonderful selection Hurst dreams up tonight. Unfortunately I won't be there. There's guaranteed goals if both sides starts to the season are anything to go on. It's definitely a pivotal game already for us, it genuinely will set the mood for the coming few weeks. A loss and Hurst is massively on the back foot in terms of support for him.

Tomorrow we are privileged to be hosting the mighty Vision. We are bringing our ear defenders so protect ourselves from the deafening din they make:-

From the Eastleigh board....

Last season the support from Eastleigh fans was fantastic, probably only bettered at Grimsby in the play off. There was 170 odd there last season and I would imagine with all our newer supporters we'll better that, many going by train and car. Our shortest trip away this season so lets give it a rip, we know RH and the team appreciate the best 12th man in the league....we sing when we win..we sing when we lose....no other team has supporters that get behind the team whatever the score may be, as was superbly shown at Grimsby. So let's generate a fantastic atmosphere, have a good day out, and come home with three more points on the board.

Wrexham expecting a crowd of 6 to 7,000 for our game v Halifax on Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost - it's what seems to happen when we get a big attendance. Plus we never beat Halifax.

Fucking hell, 170 of them!!
Has this been sent to the local Aldershot rag so they can warn all residents to board up windows, lock up daughters, and flee the town?

Also get Danny Dyer on the blower for what looks could be a pwoppa nawty away day.

Nervous about the 'Fax game. Haven't beaten them since they got promoted, we're playing well and picking up points, they're struggling.
Just thank god Bishop ain't playing as he was bound to score!
