Our forum is quiet because we won the moral victory in the first half and only kept Stockport to 4 in the second half, fair play to Jake Askew because whilst at fault for the 4th he played a blinder in goal yesterday.

I thought we were excellent first half, well organised and soaked up most of what Stockport had to offer. We looked like we had a threat down the right hand side on the break too with Mendy and Lo-Everton impressive. Ran out of steam towards the end with two18 years olds and two 16 year olds on the pitch, but we kept trying to play. The gulf in resources between Stockport and us is ridiculous, we shouldn't even be on the same pitch really particulary in the current circumstances so felt the squad deserved alot of credit yesterday for not embarrassing themselves irrespective of the scoreline.

Fair assessment - Paddy Madden was a thorn in the side all day yesterday but given the 6 figure transfer fee and wages, we're nowhere near. One further thing to point out is that it was quite noticeable how Stockport didn't possess some of the giants that others near the top possess and it's that physicality which we really struggle to cope with.

As well as mentioning the youngsters (who all have potential), unfortunately the lad up front just isn't good enough for this level. Big jump from Step 4 but when you can't control a simple pass (FK which lead to Stockport's 3rd) then this level is too far.
