Which are the most memorable Guards of honor in football? Would love to have light shed on the less obvious ones. Arsenal to Manchester (2013), Barcelona to Real Madrid (2008) are obvious ones, as the ones exchanged between United and Chelsea.

Do you have anything that comes to mind? Not only limited to the Premiership.

That's one extraordinary answer.

Will be hoping for better.

Is this thread in honour of Ranieri if he gets one at Stamford Bridge?

It would be great to see Ranieri's side get one at Chelsea. I think the Chelsea fans would give him and his team a warm reception on their achievement.

Didn't Gerrard have to be a part of one where he had to applaud Loftus-Cheek onto the field just before leaving? Ha.

Memorable because it didn't happen :)
When we won (aka bought) the Confertence title a few years ago, Luton were the team who we played after clinching it. Their manager ruled that there would be no guard of honour.
I can understand it though. Luton were still fighting for a play off spot and he probably didn't want us to have what he perceived as a psychological edge.
Miserable bastard :)

Liverpool fan endorses cheating, what a surprise.

Similar to how Real Madrid have come out in support of Nadal, Liverpool fans are now contractually obliged to jump to the aid of every known drug cheat in the wake of Mdmadope Smackho's misdemeanours.

Liverpool only need a player now to get done for grooming ( i think Lawrenson got away with it) and they could make a Cludeo set.

Who was it?

Sacko in the Library with an overdose.

you should never do something like that if you have something to play for or are playing local rivals.

Nothing cheating about that goal that knocked England out of the World Cup. We all had a dram to celebrate when it happened, even me at 9 years of age :D

It's not the winning but the taking part and the schadenfreude when England get kicked out, it's very enjoyable and will be again this summer. :D

Bracknell Town gave Rayners Lane a guard of honour when they won the Hellenic League Division One East.

Bracknell finished fourth that season but we're promoted anyway as the teams above them (including Rayners Lane) didn't have good enough facilities.

Non league.

Well I know Scotland are small time football-wise so it's to be expected that I do sound a bit like an Evertonian there I suppose ;)
