Tranmere have confirmed that Micky Adams will be there new manager replacing Rob Edwards after he was sacked on Monday.

Adams will not take charge of Rovers' match on Saturday away at Oxford United. However, Adams will be in attendance to see his new team in action for the first time so Assistant Manager Matt Gill and Coach Alex Russell will take the reigns of Saturdays fixture. Adams will be in the dugout for the first time when Rovers host Mansfield Town on Tuesday evening.

Is this a good appointment for Tranmere? Is Micky Adams the man to take Tranmere back into League One? Please vote or leave feedback.

That is, an excellent appointment IMO.

Sure he isn't the best PR guy, he won't come cheap and he will want a budget but if he gets the right centre forward and squad in then I think Tranmere will be back in league one, probably next season. I think the top of league 2 is quite strong this season. It will be a bit of a down turn in football entertainment. Edwards had a philosophy of passing the ball, but let's be honest - they were doing atrociously. Adams will be harder to beat, but certainly more effective and direct. I doubt he's on a pittance, so it pretty much has to work for Tranmere, I don't think they can afford another poor term for a manager as it may ultimately, lead them into the non league abyss.
