Boro look really good right now. It's weird to see the Riverside so positive.

Horrible gash on Ramirez' leg. But why is he wearing children's shin pads?

Shame that red card happened (it was the correct decision) as Brighton seemed to go into their shell having just got back into it..

Totally wrong decision. It wasn't even a foul, they went in together and Stevens was quicker thats all. Great support from Boro fans, they intimidated the ref who buckled under the pressure. NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. & where was his shin pads!
EDIT.....Whoops sorry Benji...that reply was meant for the Watford thread above yours. (I pushed the wrong button)

I don't think it was an awful challenge but it was a definite red card. You can't go in studs showing like that

Mike Dean ruined what was turning into a real cracker of a 2nd half. The red card was a poor decision and one influenced not just by Boro fans but the Boro players as well. Dean had the yellow card he thought the tackle warranted in out of his pocket but had it physically knocked out of his hand by a Boro player as they protested and he then changed it to a red upon seeing the gash on Ramirez's leg. Now moving onto the points made above, this gash wouldn't have been there if Ramirez along with most other players stopped viewing shinpads as fashion accessories and actually wore ones that do indeed protect the lower leg and not just a small percentage of it.

This wasn't the only thing Dean got wrong, there was a clear view for any neutral to see that he was seemingly making 90% of decisions in Boro's favour. Whether he was intimidated by Boro players, fans, management or whoever it doesn't matter as he is a seasoned professional and should be able to handle big game atmosphere's like yesterday and it was plain for all to see that he completely ballsed it up.

First off, I haven't seen the tackle, only heard the comments from all over the place.

However, Mike Dean has long been an appalling joke of a referee, and that he was given a game of such magnitude defies logic. You could literally pick any other ref at that level and it'd be an improvement.

Was surprised when I saw his name on the lineups. Wasn't surprised when I heard there was controversy.

Rarely does a game involving Mike Dean not end up in controversy.

I agree that he should never be influenced by an injury, although you could argue that the injury proves excessive force.
