11am pitch inspection for our game. Lynn confident of it going ahead but, reading between the lines, we’ve kicked off big time after Saturday and the league have agreed to ask the ref to get there early for this one. Should at least massively reduce the chances of another one called off an hour before kick off as the afternoon looks mostly dry.

No suprise the Boxing Day game got called off considering Santa had no time to work on the pitch.

Not sure what to expect from us in this one. Grimsby were the better team in the first game but of course for most of the game we had the handbreak on trying desperately not to get beat.

I don't see us backing off quite as much at home. This could be a really open game. I wouldn't be overly disappointed with another point but for this one I'm going to be optimistic and go for a 2-1 home win.

I had looked at this the other way and assumed the ref would be against as it is our pitch that has lost him a day, although maybe the meter is running and we will be further out of pocket. It has been a bit wet this morning but not really raining (I am less than a mile from the ground as the crow flies), the forecast for the afternoon is a little better although it is reported there will be another inspection at 2pm

Yes, unfortunately it is a long while since I went to the Walks with hope, I guess the fear is that Notts will actually be hungry after missing so much football and will take it out on us. We have been in most home games but all of our defensive players have a mistake in them (I think 5 of Wrexham's goals came from silly individual errors) so will see if Widdrington has managed to eliminate this aspect of our play - some home fans getting excited about beating Dover and Nantwich at home without appreciating the gulf between them and genuine step 1 sides. If you are coming across, safe journey, it is certainly a better trip than when I was at Trent Poly at the end of the 80s

It’s just the kind of game we’re liable to struggle in - bad pitch, tight ground etc. Looking forward to it now though, my last new ground in the division.
