This weekend sees Blackpool heading to the Den where last season they ended their run of straight wins. It would be ironic should they end their five game losing streak in the opposite fashion. This week has been a poor week for Jose Riga in terms of player recruitment, they have not managed to add to their squad but have lost further players due to injury as Gary MacKenzie has joined Bobby Grant and Jacob Mellis on the injury list. Riga has also come out and said he won't be rushed with Andrea Orlandi and he is also going to have to keep a hopeful eye over Joan Oriol due to muscle fatigue. Blackpool are slowly catching up to the rest of the league in terms of match fitness and now we're just looking for that positive result before the International Break to put some smiles amongst the Tangerine faithful.
Millwall have started off well enough with two wins, a draw and a loss. Having been beaten midweek in the cup against Southampton and at the weekend by Rotherham, they will certainly be looking to shut short the run by beating Blackpool. Ian Holloway has added Watford striker Matias Ranegie to the squad and he will be placed into the mix at some point in the game. Blackpool will hope that their top scorer last season, Ricardo Fuller, will be kept quiet should he start and that they can be more clinical in the correct areas.
An interesting fixture and a reflection of the times as two years ago Blackpool swept past Millwall with ease 2-0. It certainly would be a fantastic result should that happen again.
Prediction : 1-1
