On Saturday Millwall host the early impressers Nottingham forest at the Den, the last meeting between the two was on the 5th of April last season where the Lions recorded a very impressive 2-1 away victory. In the same season months earlier it was desmond at the Den. Millwall played their last game Tuesday losing 3-2 away at Reading going down 2 nil after 15 minutes goals from Simon Cox and Nick Blackman from the penalty spot. Before Ricardo Fuller halved the deficit 5 minutes from the break. An equaliser not long into the second half from Mark Beevers was to follow but the then Simon Cox settled the issue with the winner 10 minutes from time. Forest played just a day after in a thriller sharing 8 goals with the steadily improving Fulham with the in form striker Britt Assombalonga bagging a hatrick with Jamie Patterson and Michel Antonio also on the scoresheet.
Forest's feisty derby against local rivals Derby county led to a handful of injurys, Andy Reid and Chris Cohen have picked up injury's which is likely to side line them for this Saturday. After an injury free season for Millwall it was recently aoonunced that winger Lee Martin has picked up a serious injury which will keep him out till November, Lee Gregory is also doubtful for Saturday with a knee injury. With Millwall long term injury to Lee Martin, manager Ian Holloway has said publicly that he is already looking for cover for his work and his position, emphasizing the importance of Martin to Millwall.
Nottingham Forest have made an extremely good start to the season sitting top of the table after 7 games and an up and down season so far for Millwall sitting 12th the two recent defeats dropping them out of the playoffs postions.
In my opinion Millwall will get better we have loanee Matthias Ranagie still to get to full fitness and we are still in my opinion yet to find our best 11 for me its our defensive frailty's that have cost them this season scoring two goals away from home and having no points to show for it. This is the worry for the Lions on Saturday with the goals that are in the forest team, not just Assambalonga but wingers Chris Burke and Michel Antonio also dangerous and with the midfielder Henri Landsbury also having a great season. There will most defiantly be goals in this this game... there always is.
Forest's defence has had shown signs o frailty's conceding 3 goals at home to Fulham but the goals in the team may just be enough to see them take the 3 points. Millwall will fancy their chances and will not lie down to the early table toppers with Ollie looking to bounce back from 2 away defeats on the spin. Millwall will need to up their game with the visit from Nottingham forest.
My Prediction: 2-2
