Always remember it as October 30th when I was a kid.

Apparently some people 'celebrate' it on November 4th.

Am I alone?

Just googled it and it's a night for running about egging houses and generally being a nuisance.

We used to call that friday night.

Like Steve alluded to, that was generally what we got up to most nights back in the day.

Same here, but there was always THAT day when everyone got involved. I'm adamant it was the night before Halloween though.

Never heard of it either.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
It's a northern+eastern thing.

Hazy memories of it, people taking the front gate off its hinges and the like when Inwas a nipper in Hull, but not a peep about it over t'hills in Macclesfield.

Always the 30th back home. Also known as mizzy night. Some shops stopped selling eggs on the day around ours.

Was the 30th October in 1970s/80s Stockport. Dunno if youths still do it these days.
