While I thought we were much better in the second half and didn't deserve to not win, that period of pressure before Arnold's goal meant that it was very satisfying. Tweaked something in my shoulder area fist pumping in my bedroom in celebration.

Amond is class though a great signing for us. Unsure how Rhead has managed to score so many he just seemed to fall over everytime the ball went near him. Our midfield was still eating their Chrismas dinner all 4 of them pretty dismal.

Not too disappointed really, the players gave it all but there's just a real lack of quality in the squad. I could argue about the ref's decisions but weirdly enough we probably offered more when we went down to 10.

Grimsby are a typical solid Paul Hurst side. Play-offs again for them.

Lincoln definitely looked better after the sending off. We played alright but it wasn't our best performance. If Arnold had been a bit more patient on the ball we could have been 3 or 4 nil up. Happy with the win though and commiserations to the 1199 Lincoln fans. And no pitch invasion which was good!

Criticism of the midfield is valid, but I thought the other 7 were very good overall. McKeown, Townsend and Amond all excellent. Bogle very good, just not quite sharp enough in front of goal but outside of the box I thought he was really effective. Robertson characteristically solid when he came on too.

Still 3 points and another win so can't grumble too much.

Putting everything else to one side, even though I don't really care about "local rivalry" like other posters on this forum - I'd quite like Grimsby to go up and disappear never to come back this time. They've been here long enough now, they have a squad seemingly strong across the pitch - only question mark is on the manager. They're always going to be hogging one of the play-off spots for as long as they're here.

Angling towards Cheltenham and Grimsby for promotion at the minute, in that order.
