Time to divide opinion; much like it has on our forum for weeks since its launch.

We recently teamed up with Tifosy, of whom use their website as a platform to raise money for football clubs - whatever the cause may be.

Basically, the fans donate money - in our case, we're using the money to upgrade the changing rooms (£75,000) and to purchase a big screen (£75k-£100k+).

The reason for the thread is, a small majority of our own fans refuse to donate money because they genuinely believe that they shouldn't subsidise ground improvements because; A.) The ground isn't owned by the club and B.) the club should fund this themselves.

From a personal perspective, I'm all for it. Every other club operates on a shoe-string budget. So, if the fans can give something back to the club to help fund these much needed upgrades, the more money we have available in terms of playing budget.

We have raised £120k so far from fan donations alone. The target is £250k, but with 11 days to go, we may 'only' reach £150k, which would be a great effort, I think you'll agree.

So what do you guys think? Is this a scheme you would like your respective club launch? If so, for what reason?

In addition, there are a few clubs with screens in L1. I'm not talking smalls ones - more Sheff Utd/Millwall size; but any ideas how much these cost. A few rumours have circulated recently that with West Ham moving the the Olymipic Stadium soon, both their current screens would be available to purchase.

We got ours cheap off Darlington. I think Wednesday paid about 1million for there's last year. And no I wouldn't be donating a fucking penny to em. They make a fortune and if they want to waste it all on shit footballers wages that's up to them.

Ours cost 75k (sure a fan purchased it) and that's tiny.

Wouldn't touch with a bargepole, looking at who owns Tifosy...

We have a scheme for a screen wth Tifosy ongoing at the moment. Not too arsed though. Would rather the £120k estimated cost goes on a proper number 10.

Our screen was supposedly a freebie in return for branding and advertising. It's too small to be a massive use.

And if they asked for a donation I'd tell them to fuck right off.

Taking into account match tickets for me and my daughters, tacky shit from the club shop, food, drink, programmes etc I already donate a four figure sum every year to the club.
What they do with it is their choice but if that want any more they can do one.

I believe Blackpool used our old screen and it showed one of our players Junior Brown as man of the match. Lol

Think our target is around 120 grand of which we have raised around 10%. Don't mind the club trying but it's certainly not summat I'd put money into. 350 quid (or 200 with the discount this year) is a lot of money for the average Joe to shell out and anything we save is a bonus I will spend elsewhere

Maybe we could do one for Mrs Scally's consultancy fee/new boobs?
