Poor thread title set the tone for a poor game from us. Thanks a lot OP, I justifiably blame you for us not going up this season now.

We had to be at our best to get anything today and unfortunately we weren't, so got nothing.

No complaints. Morecambe by far the better team, we actually could have scored 4 or 5 ourselves but then again Morecambe could have scored 8 or 9. Defensively we're an absolute embarrassment.

I wasn't at Anfield or the last 2 away games, but since we won at Hartlepool we've looked like a really shit side. The last 4 home games have been mediocre to say the least even though 2 have been wins.

It's a good job we've got Ibehre and Wyke to return because if not I'd be seriously worried about us dropping like a stone and being dragged into another relegation battle, but fortunately I don't think that will happen. We're too good to go down but we're no where near good enough to challenge the top 7

Miraculously we're still just 4pts off the top.

But that was shite, we looked good first half until Gillesphey's mistake for the goal. Pathetic performance, especially in defence.

At 3-1 Morecambe could've scored another 4. It was terrible. We made them look world beaters, but they were just an average league 2 side.

They are an excellent away team and today they showed why. Good fast counter attacking football that we simply had no answers to.

Still if we'd had anything about us today we'd have kicked on and taken control after taking the lead. This is the third time this season (after Newport and York) where after half an hour we've looked like this could be where we win 3-0, only to end up disappointed.

Thought the first 15 minutes were fairly even, not many chances for either side. I think we were the better side after that and deserved the lead, and Kennedy could've made it 2-0.

Gillesphey gave it away for their goal, and they were the better side til half time, though Asamoah should have put us 2-1 ahead.

Morecambe started the second half the better side, and we looked hopeless defensively. We did look threatening on the attack, Kennedy hit the bar and we had a couple of half chances.

There was some controversy surrounding their 2nd goal, the ball looked as if it went out of play in the build-up, but it was hard to see from my angle. Again, the defence parted.

Poor defending for the 3rd goal, we were so slow at the back. McQueen was very poor today I thought, and Miller was quiet. From then on, Morecambe were taking the piss, counter-attacking with ease and we offered nothing.

Raynes went up front for the last ten again and was threatening, setting up Asamoah for a late consolation.

Kennedy played well today, could've easily had a hat trick. Dicker played well too, and Grainger took his goal well. Asamoah worked hard but missed a couple good chances at key points.

Hopefully Jabo and/or Wyke is back for next week, we miss a presence up top.

I thought after 2 minutes morecambe were on their game more than us. They looked at it from the off, pinning us back straight from kick off winning the early corner. They got in down our left side numerous times before we scored.

I think we're going to end up a bottom half team but having the odd few weeks in the 12th-8th positions getting fans hopes built up. The whole season will be inconsistent with a decent result then a shocker to follow. We simply concede far too many goals to have any chance of challenging the top 7.

But hey compared to last season it's fantastic.

When I said no complaints, I mean no complaints about losing the game. We fully deserved to lose.

I have plenty of complaints about our performance. Although it comes as no surprise to me because I think we're a very poor team in an extremely false position.

I thought we were not too bad actually, I thought for 70 minutes that was a very enjoyable game between 2 sides trying to play some entertaining football.

Problem for us is they played like that for 90 minutes while us for 20 minutes had a madcap atrocious spell with numerous errors and bad attitudes and Morecambe deservedly capitalised on that and really we should have lost by more than a goal.

First half was a fun game, both sides played well and i could give an argument that we deserved more, we looked very good on the ball and quite comfortable, we got the lead and played some good stuff, sadly we make a mistake and Morecambe got back on level terms, but the finish for their equalizer was excellent.

We just got hit hard by some poor individual performances and a total lack of concentration, mostly in a disasterous 20 minute spell, firstly by Asamoah who had an absolutely awful game flogging a great one-on-one chance by disgracefully deciding he'd rather try and get a player sent off than score...............well done the ref for ignoring that blatent cheating and i'd took him off ASAP on that moment but for one huge error..........WE HAVE NO F*CKING FORWARDS!!! A big well done to our cheapskate board and foolish Curle for not bothering 14 days later to replace Ibere and thinking we were suddenly world beaters so could half-ar*e cheapskate it.

Then of course we conceeded a second by to a man stopping and protesting a throw-in than playing to the whistle, an unacceptable lack of concentration there which cost us a goal simply because they kept running and we stopped waving hands. We then collapsed and soon let in a 3rd by again our goalie and defender expecting a ball to go out for a goal-kick and stopping and they simply ran in to tap into the net to our players surprise.

then disgustingly a good 5-6 players decided to give up which led to them nearly hitting 6-7 goals in about 10 minutes before finally some effort went in for the final 10, but Rigg is out of his depth at this level and Osai isn't good enough so our attack changes added nothing at all until for the 2nd home game in a row it took putting our central defender up front to cause problems.

So on the whole i think we were not as bad as people play out, for 70 minutes it was an even game and really we hit bar twice (or was it bar and post) and missed 2 one-on-ones, but our decision making the entire game was horrific and attitude stank when we went behind, concentration slipped for 20 minutes and it was rightly punished.

add in our total lack of forward actions due to the usual Carlisle way of not bothering to replce key players and thinking we can just 'get by anyway' it meant we had no plan B when it failed.

new forward needs in ASAP as Wyke/Ibere may be soon fit but won't be in side for another couple of weeks.

I agree with most of that, it was a decent performance for most the game, especially first half.

I'm 50/50 on the suggestion of signing someone on loan to replace Ibehre/Wyke, as I seem to remember Curle saying one of them will be in contention for Exeter next week. We won both the away games without Jabo, and we changed our game-plan. Would it have been worth it bringing someone in for potentially one game? I'm not sure, I'd probably have just used Raynes as a forward yesterday, and stuck Troy or Atkinson in defence.

Well its not proved Yet that Wyke is worth it as yet anyway, i wasn't impressed with him at start of season.

We are currently in a position where the squad has some good players in it and could push top 7, but it has weaknesses also which could push us down near the bottom, as shown yesterday, effort and confidence make enormous differences in how our side plays....one minute it looks comfortable, confident and expressive, the next minute it looks sunday league and makes numerous individual errors.

When we have finally made about a Million this season it is our chance to finally let the manager add 1-2 players to push this squad on, but in typical Carlisle board fashion we decide to gamble on the current lot being able to plug gaps and get on with it.....no doubt like back when Garner got injured and we did the same it'll backfire on us big time.

Dave, You know you said a few weeks ago that you expected us to start a horrendous winless run that will see us drop into the bottom 8, well I think yesterday could be the start of a run like that.

Exeter will comfortably beat us on Saturday. They have too much going forward for us to cope with, and we're at home. Northampton will likely beat us and then Wycombe certainly will. That will be 4 straight defeats.

Exeter who just drew to Stevenage, who we beat. Northampton who we did the double over last season despite being ten times shitter than we are now. Wycombe will be our biggest test yet but with Ibehre and Wyke back and hopefully this other loan signing I don't think it'd be right to write us off for that one either.

Depends which way you look at it really, yes we've lost a couple of winnable games recently but we've also gone to the likes of Orient and beaten them. I really can't see us losing 4 games on the run, with our style of play it's likely it'll click on at least 1 of the next 3 games just as it's likely that we don't show up to one of them and get beaten as we did yesterday.

We are absolutely shite at home, daviejones.

We've had 6 league games at BP this season. Cambridge we played well on the whole and deserved to win but for some shambolic defending. Wimbledon we were poor, barnet we were shocking and deserved to be on the wrong end of a cricket score and would have been if barnet weren't so woeful in front of goal. Dagenham we were poor but so were they, scraped the win, and yesterday we were shit. The pace in exeter's attack that was on display before will have a field day unless we change our formation/tactics at home.

But then again they've just conceded 3 at home to a Stevenage side who had scored just 1 in the last 4.

I'd say there's a pretty good chance that we will have Jabo next week, didn't Curle say that one of him and Wyke will be back for Exeter and given the nature of both of their injuries he is surely more likely?

He did but in his Morecambe post match he's now saying 2 weeks and doesn't want to rush them back and risk them getting a reoccurrence and another 6 weeks

If i do have a worry with our side is that our side seems to utterly collapse when it loses abit of confidence. That must be the 5th or 6th time we've shipped in 2 goals not long after another while making lots of individual and team mistakes in a wee spell before we compose ourselves again. We seem very prone to mistakes when we are in abit of a panic, need to clamp that out.

plus one thing i question about saturday was that i felt very sorry for the lack of support to the newcastle lad, he played quite well until that mistake and it really hurt his confidence big time, a very obvious thing for all to see, now to his left he had Grainger, and to his right he had Raines, both are meant to be our leaders and experienced pro's.......could neither of them help the lad with a word or two during that game and give some leadership on the pitch.???

If there is a plus i do think we've character, again we do re-organise and come back into the game, its where we may not see a slump i was expecting, but we do need to try and stop flapping about for a spell and taking 10-20 minutes to organise again.
