Reading through some of the early posts in this thread reminded me of the time we signed Danny O'Donnell from Stockport quite a few seasons ago. We put out a story on the club website stating "Bluebirds sign defender O'Donnell". At this stage, it was only a possible move as he'd agreed to join in principle but none of the transfer formalities had been completed between the two clubs - our media person jumped the gun and put the story out before it was anywhere near official.

Realising the error, rather than deleting or updating the story itself, the media team changed the headline to "Bluebirds sign defender O'Donnell - NOT YET!"

He did eventually sign days later. I'd love to be able to find the story again, but there is a parody twitter account called "Offical Barrow AFC" knocking about, created after the O'Donnell fiasco while also playing on the fact that the website and twitter was always littered with spelling mistakes at the time.
