Yep, absolutely no Chesterfield fans bothered at all by this. Move along.
Indeed, the mass Chesterfield fan outrage at the club asking for money is palpable. Sorry, you were right.

Had it on good authority that covers are bought and paid for with no issues whatsoever irrespective of whether the fans chuck in or not. It was noted that the last time covers were bought the fans happily chipped in to buy them. It was then suggested, that as the club had lots of goodwill towards it and that he fans in general want to be seen supporting their community club, they would ask the fans for a contribution.

This is smart marketing as it makes people feel invested in their community club and they can make a communal difference.

I'm really laughing at you mugs trying to make this into something it isn't. Are we that under your skin? Christ knows what you will do if we beat you on the pitch, self immolation probably.

I'm not bothered at all by the actual asking for money, I'm just pointing out that you've all got your backs up by people laughing at it. Which, as you'll know my friend, is known in the industry as a TRIGGERING.

Thread ruined. Delete it and start again. The only thing that matters in here is Mansfield's open top bus parade.

Only just noticed this nonsense is in the tinpot thread. An outrage, this is the forum museum.

It's people trying to make out it's £15k the club can't afford and are shaking a begging bucket, which isn't at all what it is. Folks are just trying to explain that. Consider us triggered if that's what explanations translate as these days I guess?

I was saying that our fans aren't annoyed at our club for asking for 15k thus I'm afraid your bantastic meme was misplaced because you thought I was talking about whether or not we were bothered about other fans' reactions. It happens, old sport, not to worry.

Thanks for the tragic boomer meme, unfortunately none of it applies to me though.
I’d beg to differ with the way you were going off earlier in this thread…

Be honest, have you had a little cry today since reading that statement cos you seemed extremely worked up about the whole situation ?

Yep, I don't make the rules for a TRIGGERING but I will definitely admit that they are relentlessly petty and objectively cruel. It was Wrexham yesterday, you lot today...we play Solihull away tomorrow so it will probably be our turn then.

As always, I knew exactly what I was doing. Glad to see you're still completely not bothered at all by it though.

100%, work in Sheffield and I quite like it. Just a bit of local banter, which Chesterfield people like to do despite the fact we barely register on Sheffields radar

Sheffield is spot on for going out for food/drinks, wouldn't ever want to live there mind.

Not sure they make you do a driving test there. I think you just get sent a licence in the post on your 17th birthday.....it's fucking wacky races!

Anyway......football.

Haha yea they are crackers on the road, that's true. I think it's city centres in general that. If you're too nicey nicey on the road you don't get anywhere. I certainly have to change my driving style navigating Sheff than I do driving round here.

If I put £20 in, can I have a ‘I helped pay for the covers’ certificate too? If our new owners did this, I would be embarrassed. Call it good marketing or whatever you want but it’s a weird move all round.

Wow, you lot really are sensitive aren't you? I thought the Wrexham and Stockport fans banging on about how tedious you all are was a bit off the mark but other than a few of you I'm starting to see what they were on about. Pages and pages of utter shite over the last few days...and there's one common denominator in all that. I'll give you a clue, it's a particular set of fans.

If anyone mentions Chesterfield then a dozen Spireite sockpuppet accounts pile on to prove how unbothered they are about whats been said.

The frost covers thing seems fairly standard for clubs in this league surely? most of us have done something similar at one point on another. They've spent a lot of Tshimanga so extra money is probably needed for these supplementary things- and to be fair that decision is paying off at the moment, although as pointed out it is November and even we have been top of this division at one point or the other. We were even top in May a few years back (the season Macclesfield went up I think)- didn't even make the play offs that year.

I suspect he’ll get a league club in the summer if we don’t go up. Cracking player, but there’s a little bit of a sense of it being a marriage of convenience for me. He’s extremely good in the air to be playing in a team which actively does everything possible to stop the ball ever going in the air, and I do have a feeling that Burch wouldn’t mind someone quicker as his main centre forward. Although he did make him vice captain, I guess.
I'd rather keep Wootton and lose Burchnall if that's the choice.

On a winning run, only 14 points behind Forest Green at the top, didn't they go on a ridiculous winning run in the second half of the season to win this title - it could be coming out the garage.

Still looking like two non-tinpots to come down, although Scunthorpe are very nearly tinpot if not officially so...

Fucking hell, I thought the Luton fans on here were bad.

Even had that one Luton fan taking it as a personal insult when Andre Gray wasn’t put in the 1FF team of the season.

But Chesterfield reacting to comments about frost covers as if you’ve shot their entire family surely takes the biscuit.
