Should win this based on current form and confidence so will probably be a Plymouth win......
Pretty much battered them earlier in the season despite the goals being pens. Pressed them hard and they didn't have a lot to offer other than a long ball roughly aimed at an uninterested Reid. Cant see that being the case this time. Hoping for an entertaining game and three points expecting another fuck up.
Supporters do get pretty angry over the "dockyard derby" media hyperbole. Battle of the ports maybe? but even that sounds too glamorous of this fixture
Just been looking at the table, and figured that should we win this match, acrington lose and rovers fail to win, considering we have a game in hand and superior goal difference on those between us and 3rd, if we won out last 5 we'd finish 3rd regardless of other results . Easy...
Looking like a Pompey win, but I do have a funny feeling about tomorrow.
It looks like all of the Pompey fans want attack from the word go, which I would be happy to see as this would play straight into the hands of our counter attacking away football style which has seen so much success this season..(until around 8 or 9 games ago when teams noted this and let us have more of the ball and bored us away from home stealing points). It's for this reason Wylde has to start tomorrow so we can break quickly, he's fucking rapid.
Reuben Reid injured again just as he was starting to look a bit more like himself.
Lots of mutual respect between the 2 teams for historical reasons and minus each clubs respective nobhead element, it should be a cracking atmosphere at a full Fratton Park. COYG.
They Knew how to get a result and stuck with it. Aerial bombardment and set pieces were bound to pay off sooner or later can't sit off like that at 1-0
Apparently Wylde changed the game when he came on, as per my post pre match he needs to play more! 2,405 very happy pilgrims there yesterday and somehow we are still in the race!
