Two of mine - Metal Box and The Smiths, and it will be a TRAVESTY IF METAL BOX IS ELIMINATED THIS EARLY as it will undoubtedly be. Three 12'' records in a metal film can, which was very innovative for the time. The album which showed the way forward for post punk, mixing dub, techno, industrial, classical and punk, and a lot of other subtle influences. It's also the album which influenced a thousand artists, with Massive Attack being, perhaps, the best known out of the lot. Absolutely mind blowing and is my all time NO 1 fav. It's also explains why it was a good thing the Pistols had disbanded. We wouldn't have had such brilliant music courtesy of P.I.L. if Johnny had stuck with 'em now would we.
This album was also warmly welcomed by audio equipment repairmen/techies all over the world as many a speaker woofers and tweeters were damaged by the album's low and high end frequencies.
Now I don't expect Metal Box to win in a group which has the Smiths in it, but do give it a listen lads, if you haven't already done that is.
