If history is anything to go by, an easy three points for the Glovers tomorrow as that prick Derry will inevitably set us up to crumble in yet another of "those games you should be winning, if...".

As there's also an SS promotion (no jackboots required, it's probably just children) tomorrow it looks like a capitulation is all but inevitable.

1-3 Yeovil in front of 5,102 people who wondered why they bothered.
Why such misery?

Despite all the portents of doom (History, South Stand Initiative, decent result at Sixfields, etc.), this will be Ryan Ledson's last match before his International call up over Easter and we'll win 2 - 0 in front of another 5,000 plus crowd.

Our own portent (definition 2: an exceptional or wonderful person or thing), Sean Derry will continue his "play-off reaching standard series of results since November" to guide us to a comfortable mid-table finish. A relatively unchanged side over the last month or so should deliver.
  • 35 Norris
  • 25 Furlong
  • 6 Legge

  • 22 Williamson
  • 21 Spencer
  • 11 Dunk
I've only seen Yeovil once - accompanying local Glover, Dave H, to their 2004/5 FA Cup 3 - 1 defeat of Histon. My only vague memories of that match were a cracking Hog Roast, some decent beer and the Histon team meeting John Beck in the pub car park before walking up to the ground. As Yeovil/Dave need the points more than us, I'd be happy with a draw and a half decent performance.

Mr Ataturk has only had the pleasure of seeing 3 games under Mr Derry (all wins?!), but he has seemingly had it in for him ever since he joined, I would recommend that he listen to his close accomplices who attend all the games for a more rounded view but as he has certainly put in the miles during the dark years I am sure they will hold a modicum of respect for his opinion.... ;)

I'm hoping the defeat to Exeter last time at home will prevent us from getting sucked into a similar sort of game this time but I'm not convinced, probably only one goal in it and I'm backing whoever gets it first....

We'll stuff the fuckers. 4-0.

Everything points to us losing this one so the logic of opposites applies and therefore we'll win.

I just need to make sure I have 2 beers in the supporters club before hand, don't take a sweet on the way into the Habbin (my mate has to take one, conversely), go through the first turnstile on the left and then I need to not stand next to my wife but by a guy on the terraces where we'll do an absurd corner bet on paddy power. These events seem to see us protected sufficiently to deliver a win, given our results at home to date.

Funny old game, football. Good old Josh Coulson striding forward, Baresi-esque, and sliding the ball to Dunk before a nice Williamson finish to get us on our way before a moment of madness from a Yeovil midfielder and a fussy referee effectively made the game ours after 20 mins. Didn't get out of second gear thereafter but job done really.

The most chilled out I've been at a game of football for bloody years.

Agree.

Pleased Yeovil are safe.

Oh, and we probably won a new fan from the money grabbing Emirates today - partly thanks to the novelty of two wingers and two fullbacks who enjoy playing football.

It's hard to be happy Yeovil are safe when York are still in such a perilous position.

Top bombing today lads, and sorry Dezza, I'll wait until things go wrong to really lay into you :)

I'm hoping that Stevenage have the matter in hand................but it would help if York took a modest interest in survival.

I have just put in an order with the club shop for the A4 Sticker Pack and the Temporary Tattoo Pack. Don't really need these items but I am hoping this purchase will entitle me to comment on Derry and all things U's related :pond:

No need to comment on the match itself as it resembled a pre-season friendly, and like others have said, I've never been more relaxed whilst watching a U's game. Don't know whether it was the early goal, the sending off or the second goal just before the break (or a combination of all 3 incidents) but Yeovil looked poor and threw in the towel far too early.

Will not make my mind on Derry just yet as that will be foolish, but he certainly deserves credit for at least a couple of things. I'll only talk about one for now and that is ,disregarding for a moment the poor showings in the Crawley/Stevenage/Pools matches, we are finally getting results against weaker opponents like Daggers, York and Yeovil. So we're slowly but surely getting there.

I'm keeping the other thing to myself for now.
