We have quite a few youngsters on here, just wondering if anybody has taken part in the NCS Challenge over their summer in the past few years? If so what did you get up to and was it a good/bad experience?

I've had some friends do it previously.

It was a mixed reaction really; they enjoyed it because they met lots of people and kept in contact. They also enjoyed the outdoor activities i.e rock-climbing, abseiling etc. They didn't enjoy some of the activities they did like fundraising and community work (should've known what they were signing up for really).

Ultimately, I guess it's a good way to use up half of your holidays if you have no plans. The main reason they did it was to be able to put it on their uni applications/CV.
