Thought I’d better start this up as we are obviously the only fixture tonight.

after being postponed on the first day of the season its

Wealdstone v Chesterfield

The visitors were undercooked for the original fixture but with now 4 games under their belt will be pretty much up to speed.

Stones fresh from their fist win make one enforced change, with Jack Cawley making his full debut after 2 sub appearance. He will play at centre half in place of Midfielder Michael Phillips who has started the first 4 games. Not a major issue as Cawley is better in the air and should cope better with Denton.

Another free hit against one of the sides that should be up there come the end of the season

Chesterfield give a start to Nathan Tyson and Scott Boden is on the bench after completing his suspension.

I doubt it will be 0-0.

Chesterfield should be one of the sides up there at the end of the season but every indication suggests a hattrick of relegation struggles.

They were shite the other week when we played them. One of those where you think they might end up in the regionals before rebuilding.

Do people really think Chesterfield were gonna be up at the top this season? They may be a Brother and of course hope for the best but didn't they keep on most of the losers that got them to 5th/6th bottom last season? They were/are never gonna bother the top.

Agreed.

More chance of them being in a relegation fight than in a promotion one.

Can’t believe how route one Chesterfield were, with no plan B. They passed the ball about in the 75 minute, when we dropped off.

They need to get rid of Pemberton and get John Beck in, even his sides passed it more than that.

Flipping hell, we are two places off the play offs paying our players minimum wage. One team played football today and one were long ball, hit it high up the field as possible, kick whatever you can. Pretty agricultrual stuff from Chesterfield.

if we stop letting in silly goals, we’d be quite comfortable at this level as we have goals in our boots.

I thought you lot would do well, no idea why but you've got a bit of support and universal credit on your side.

Brother Chesterfield are in a sorry state, seems like their struggle down here is entirely their own making. Some of us have excuses but it just seems they're not done bottoming out.

Chesterfield have fallen into the trap that some relegated clubs do, and we did similar. You really need to have a good go in your first season down here to try and create some sort of momentum again otherwise you end up stuck in a rut.

Stockport and York were slightly different because they went straight through I think, but we had 5 years of bottom half finishes (I think we went 17th, 16th, 15th, 14th, 13th, which was taking gradual improvement a little too literally ).

So who will be the first managerial casualty, Dan Cowley is out work and could get a team out of this league.

but it’s a 2 horse race between Notts and Stockport, both have enough finance and support to ride the vagaries of this season.

I am a positive person and had us getting 7 points from the first 5 games just had the results against Dagenham and Wrexham the wrong way round.

I think we will survive, because we will grow in to the season and aren’t overspending.

We dropped to the NLN in two seasons.

Our problem was being so badly run off the pitch. We had Hamann appointed by a potential owner who never took over the club and also put an horrendous bad and costly squad together. We then got Gannon in to save us from going straight down and we ended up finishing lower mid table despite the board asking him cut the wage bill while improving us.

Budget was cut again in the summer meaning we lost Tom Elliott to Cambridge and Gannon had his worst batch of summer recruitment in his three spells which saw us have a very poor first half to the season.

Our team at the time was pretty average but we would have finished mid table again had the board given Gannon the go ahead to bring in a right back and a centre back on loan as that was where we were really struggling week after week.

Instead they told him we had no money, brought in a deluded kid as a CEO and then sacked Gannon the same day, brought in a foreign youth manager who had worked with the deluded Kid on some private academy Project and the deluded kid/clueless manager then spent quite a bit of money rebuilding the squad, in most cases with inferior players to the ones we had, while also managing to avoid bringing in players in the two positions we actually needed strengthening the most.

A few months later and we were in a worse position than when Gannon left and we brought in our third manager of the season but by then it was too little too late.

With two fellow brotherhood members losing their in the space of four days, it makes our 5-2 win last Tuesday look more impressive

A point of order, if I may, Route One is has been officially called Tom Denton, for some time. Quite shocking that you weren't aware of this. :ds:

I knew Stockport were just passing through when we played them in a friendly, late in pre-season the year they dropped out of the FL. The complacency of their players was shocking, you could see they thought it was going to be a breeze getting back. We beat them easily and it was no surprise when we passed them on the way up in 2013.

Nobody knew this game was on tonight until this thread. Not even Wealdstone Raiders fans knew.

Like many have said on here we are in trouble again.

We seem to be able to score but our defence is so bad and the midfield so lightweight.

Denton I am not a fan of despite his goals, he gives us one plan, and that is - hoof. When teams suss us out the hoofs then come back and we can't get into the game and generally go onto concede numerous. The best 10 minutes this season was Woking were we took Denton off and scored 3.

Tough times ahead. I do feel a drop into regional football is on the horizon

Wtf, how has a player as shite as Tom Denton got 5 goals to his name in the first 5 games?

This league has really gone to the dogs hasn't it?

I know these frustrations Chesterfield fans. Pemberton has one plan and never adapts. No doubt the training and all the behind the scenes isn't going great if he's the same as he was here.

2 pens, 2 direct from a long throw so not exactly tearing it up. We're still better off longer term without him, or using him as a Plan B.

Those rumours are circulating about training already..

Not surprised. Heard some pretty bad stories from people behind the scenes last year not just on training is run but also how he treats people as well.

Denton has his uses in this league, but only as a throw him on with 10 to go when you need a goal and are planning an aerial bombardment tactic.

For The Denton tactic to work, you need players around to pick up the 2nd ball, players which Chesterfield don't have.

For years as shit as we were we at least had Lincoln who you could guarantee were going to be a little bit worse. Then they went and got their act together but at least we now have Chesterfield.

They owe us for being the shittest draw you could possibly get when you reach an FA Cup quarter final as a lower league team. Its been 23 years and the debt still isn't quite paid.

As for the Wealdstone Raiders: you've got no fans... you've got no ground...
