It’s clear people are still struggling with this concept…

We are not claiming to be the best team in the league, nor are we saying we have the best starting XI or anything like that as arguments can be made for a number of teams in this league. We’re literally stating that we think we have the strongest squad in the league because with everyone fit we could field 2 completely separate XI’s that would be capable of mounting a title / play off challenge. Personally I don’t think anyone else in the league has a squad depth capable of that

That’s all, nothing more, nothing less.
Its very simple.

I'm not saying we have the best team in the league.

But we could field two teams who would win the league. And no-one else can say that.

Also we have the best team in the league.

I'd argue that we do, presuming the team is competently managed. And that's not including the ones we've got out on loan at other clubs in this division, two of whom are above us in the table

Stockport have a better squad than Chesterfields on paper. But up until the other day you had a shite manager. Whereas Chesterfield have a good manager. Thats the difference.

Also Chesterfield play Dover and Barnet every week.

Surely we can all agree that Chesterfield have a very good squad, but have had piss easy fixtures, and their fans are proper gobshites?
Just you wait til we come to meadow lane. Hooters bouncers will have their hands full.

I reckon it would be a close call between ours and yours but in my 100% biased and one-eyed opinion, we just edge it.

It's all irrelevant anyway as Bromley are going to last minute goal their way to the title.

We can’t even jump on our injury crisis excuse anymore because we’ve just told everyone we’ve got the best squad in the league that can cope with injuries… Fuck

New BEEF alert!

The reason people have picked up on that statement is that you Chesterfield fans are always like this. When you are doing well you are the best team in the league. Some of us have been here a bit (lot) longer and are a bit more circumspect with what we say.

Well if that's the case.... All wrexham fans make shit jokes.

TFF non league forum has an institutionalised Chesterfield racism problem, it's obvious. Root and branch reform needed

That said, we'll definitely deservedly cop some shit when Solihull inevitably turn us over this weekend!

Solihull Motors away is a HUGE test for Chesterfield. Can Rowe handle the pressure and clinch this title for their expectant supporters?

Most clubs in this league lose 10 first team players and they’d struggle to pick up points in the league below never mind this one… so talking about the quality of opposition is meaningless (Just pointing out that we have played yourselves away, Daggers away and Boreham Wood during this crisis and remained unbeaten)

Ah okay we’re playing that game are we?… How would you do if Mullin got injured? Relegation battle perhaps?

Back to the original question posed anyway, if we’ve not got the best squad, in your opinion who has?
We do. :bdick:

Unfortunately you've not so far fielded either of them. :fl:

Bromley v Dover last next-to-last game - if there’s 1 game I hope we win :)

I'd take a point and run right now.

We've played there 3 times since relegation with no wins. They've also battered us at home a couple of times.

Don't know who said we have a easy next couple of games but Solihull and Maidenhead away aren't places we do very well at traditionally. If we can win one of them i'd be happy.

Do they still do that thing where you play the same side on boxing day and new year’s Day? i remember losing to alfreton at home on boxing day

I read from afar you weren’t so well, i hope you’re better buddy.
We don't even have a Boxing Day game this year because this league is so tinpot.

Is that your Macclesfield one? It’s fucking annoying, ours are that game between Boxing Day and New Year, and then Easter Monday. Imagine the manager’s delighted with that as it’s when there’s most fixture congestion, but as a fan it’s shit, two of the best dates in the season for football.

Yep assume so. Ours is Boxing Day and Good Friday so been shafted really as they would have been 2 of our biggest gates of the season if at home.

Heard you’d told the league you couldn’t get a side out as, the squad were visiting children's hospitals to take their presents away.
That's right, immediately after we've handed them over...

Well I know who has the worst squad… in terms of haircuts. Stockport. Southam-Hales, Quigley, Crankshaw, Ash Palmer, all absolute shockers. Plus a couple of baldies in Minahan and Madden.

Chally will sort them out, though. Proper short back and sides fella.

I mean we do have Frank Vincent who has had a hairband, been a baldie and then bleached it blonde already this season. Glass houses.

Hey, leave Crankshaw and Palmer out of this. Those alice bands & long, luscious locks remind me of my youth watching Football Italia

In fairness that is pretty shit, i wondered why was still 23 but of course NLN and NLS were cancelled as well so makes sense, given the hectic number of games in december (esp if you have a replay with salford) it might do you some good in the long run

Still, i suppose one way to view it is at least you’re not in the position macc are in.
