I can see why some on here called them Boring Wood.
Honestly that was an awful game of football. The referee must have blown his whistle on average every 30 seconds, it was constant

Sutton are wobbling aren't they? Torquay and Hartlepool will be thinking they can really keep some pressure on them.

Didn't watch us tonight but good win, we're in good form. Lets hope we can keep this settled group of 17/18 lads and start really gelling in time for the play off games.

Dean Keates masterclass at Halifax I'm hearing off sources*? I watched his interview post our match at the weekend. Look, it it is what it is. Look, yeah. Look, we've got to get back to winning ways.

Weymouth must be bad because their commentators were talking us up like we were Barcelona. We played well and could have won by 5 or 6, but Weymouth were very poor and not helped by a completely non-existant midfield.

Playoffs out of reach realistically but a top 10 finish would be perfect

Whenever I watch us I'm never that impressed. Didn't see us tonight but King's Lynn's season is dead and buried.

Teams that are resolute and come for a point against us will get joy from what I've seen.

I sound negative, I'm not, I think we have as good a chance as anybody in the play-offs. We can beat anybody in a one off, I'm looking forward to the play-offs. Hopefully we can get some fans in. Can't wait to watch a bit of football in the sun.

In the last two games we seemed to have found a way to fit Reid, Rooney and Madden all in the same team and for it to look reasonably balanced despite Madden playing deeper than we thought he would when he arrived. That’s given me a slight tinge of hope that we could win it but I won’t put us ‘in the race’ unless we get six points from our next two against Maidenhead and snore draw specialists Boreham Wood.

Can’t believe we lost not once but twice to them. We’d be top of the league if we’d claimed maximum against them.

I bet the Reedtz brothers are happy we could drop out of the play offs on Saturday.

Awful for the past 4 months.

As Spire said, dreadful game at our place against the draw specialists that are Boreham Wood. Thank god we don’t have to play them again this season (everything crossed they don’t make the play offs if we do)

The point takes us up a place into 5th, but Asante picked up a knee injury today from a tackle in the 2nd half... early signs are it could be a bad one. Despite him not scoring in the last 8/9 games, his hold up play and ability to attract defenders towards him to create space for others will be hugely missed!

In my opinion we will be considerably weaker without Asante so going to be interesting to see how we cope with that one

Top spot went for certain last week for us, tonight second and third spot look beyond us.
In truth the way we're playing we'll do well to make the playoffs at all.
Solihull were professional in the second half, worked us out then worked us over.

Nathan Clarke :D
In previous seasons he's been brilliant but he doesn't suit our style of play anymore and his legs have gone. Reads the game very well but he's just come back from a long term eye injury and definitely not been as good this season when he has played. I would suspect this will be his last season, he's been hinting he wants to get in coaching for a year or two now so retirement probably looming.

Amazingly we lost at home, mostly because we gifted them 2 goals and had our keeper sent off.

There does seem to be a huge gulf between the bottom 4/5 this season and everyone else. The top 15 i'd say can beat each other on their day, and then it comes down to form and consistency

I know this might sound a bit defeatist and ott but I really hope the owners know what they are doing.
Failure for promotion this season means tightening of thr budget next season. Which will mean an even worse squad to that of last season.
We failed to replace Dennis and Thomas which I think is down to money and just being Notts isnt as appealing anymore.

If we dont do well in the summer i have one eye on the bottom 4 next season.

Oh Wrexham, just when you think it's another season gone you pull me back in, only to no doubt inflict more pain once again.

We'll lose to Woking on the weekend now, and the normality of Keates Out can resume

We’ll be getting rid of some pretty big earners over the summer, so I’m not worried about the budget, hopefully it will be spent more wisely, plus I think it’s clear our owners quietly have a bob or two.

And I’m really not concerned about finishing in the bottom four next season given the division will contain the same sides that have performed pretty miserably this!

I hope in a few weeks we are following the same trajectory as Stockport. Seem to be buying into the new coach’s methods now and reaping the rewards.

What is Rusk’s record at EP? Seems to be a lot of similarities between the two situations, manager not many have heard of, coaching background (although more managerial experience in our case, albeit abroad), gets off to a mixed start, calls for his head after a literal handful of games, suggestions that the sacked manager be recalled..

I really hope Ardley gets a decent job soon, because some of our lot clearly need some kind of closure and can’t get over his departure. Some of the comments about Burchnall and the rewriting of history re Ardley’s reign are eye-watering. Since we beat County at home in mid-December I’d say we played ‘well’ just once under him between then and his sacking (a home victory over D&R where our keeper was sent off after 20 mins and Michael Doyle went in goal). Yet some seem to think we’d have been a shoe-in for promotion if we’d kept him.

I’m sure this kind of thing is behind 90% of the comments about Burchnall being ‘out of his depth’ or ‘Fullarton MKii’ a full FIVE GAMES into his reign (of which he’s actually won 2, and would have won last night if Kyle Wootton hadn’t decided to go completely off the boil), but still it winds me up no end. Other crackers are that we should appoint Basford United’s manager because he has non-league experience, and that Burchnall ‘isn’t committed’ to the club because he doesn’t wear a Notts County manager’s coat on the touchline.

Still, it’s social media, so I suppose I should just ignore the fuck out of it.

Sorry to hear that he has played a lot of back to back games with Gloucester and yourselves without injury.

Chill - I’m pretty relaxed that they know what they’re doing. We messed this season up a long time ago, but not down to a lack of funds.

What we’re going to see, I hope and pray, is no more 32 year-olds who ‘should be too good for this level’ with 300 EFL games weighing down their legs.

Totally freak result. We’ll still finish 10th I reckon (hope).

We actually don’t want to go up. We want to hang around, get Keates gone and smash this tinpot league once and for all next season (with fans there to see it).

Asante will be a big miss if its serious, looked a fairly robust but fair challenge so not much you can do about that I guess. Will be just our luck to lose him just when we are getting going.

I feel like I may have jinxed him by suggesting he may be over his injury problems in the Confirmed signings thread.

Soz.

Genuinely hope he's OK.

Some nice stats from last night around Jordan Davies' hattrick.

Its the first first-half hattrick by a Wrexham player since Juan Ugarte got three at Stockport in April 2005. Juan Ugarte also got 5 up at Hartlepool that season in a mental 4-6 win. Before we were all non-league tinpotters.

Also he became the first Wrexham born player to score a hat trick for us since Lee Jones put 5 past Cambridge in 2002.

That Ugarte game was mental, he just faded into obscurity shortly after, did he get crocked or something?

Yeah he went to Crewe and got injured, barely played for them. He briefly came back to us but his career was effectively over.

Some great names in that game. We had Ben Foster in goal, Darren Ferguson and Carlos Edwards. And I just associate Joel Porter and Adam Boyd with Pools. Gavin Strachan too.

Good Times.

Adam Boyd works as driver for UPS or something now and Joel Porter works in something quite shite in Australia as well.

Such a shame injuries ruined the pair of them. Great strikeforce, skill, movement, vision and in Boyd's case, absolutely lethal finisher.

Right, I'm feeling lucky today and I've had a look at it so I'm putting it out there that if we win our last 7 league games, we win the league. Simples.

Oh and GTFCfish get your forum blokey to update the predict the league formula, it's all fucked for the Conference. Ta.
