At least the Maidstone yoof will stop singing "we're on our way, we're on our way...".

I'm just surprised we're still in the play off places, is the league really that bad that being reliant on away form is enough to be near the top?

No, I don't subscribe to the theory of the league suddenly being bad this season. But on our day, Maidstone have always been capable of being terrible.

The replays (we have 5 cameras) suggest otherwise. And the penalty was a dive.

Tu jeste, ha ha.

On reflection it was a typical game between 2 exceptionally shite teams, but like my Orient supporting friend (from Paisley) said 'a very entertaining game'. Btw your fans are very partisan with a very unfair, one-sided view of things. If we had come away with nothing last night it would have been a terrible injustice.

If you ask a number of our fans, we're shite yet we're top. I agree with your notion, given that Solihull are the worst team I've seen this season and they're no where near as bad as some teams we've seen in this league (North Ferriby, Hyde, Bath etc.)

We didn't deserve a draw last night. Norwood had 2 chances he should of scored at 2-1 to seal the game for Tranmere. We were very lucky. Askey went for his standard 1 up top and 3 CM's who virtually all do the same job and we struggled going forward. Then again, happy to come away with a point. We just don't look like scoring unless it's from a set piece or long range.

I'm not sure I agree with that at all.
The ball did not cross the line for your first, the second, whilst a well taken strike, should never have been given as a free kick, though I have no complaints about the penalty.

Let's not forget that we had 10 men for the majority of the game and have our own mini injury crisis. We also had a goal disallowed at the end of the first half for...nothing at all? And still should have gone on to win at the end.

I honestly feel the officials gave you a massive leg up last night, and even with the 12th man advantage you weren't able to capitalise, and indeed were 2nd best.

All that aside, I hope you stay up as I would love to visit the Deva, when its not on a Tuesday night and I cant go - I was at your last league match away at Aldershot and have always looked out for you since then., I hope we will both soon be back in the football league where we belong.

Just got back to my hotel in Ilford after our match at Brisbane Road. I've not read any other comments yet as I'm completely disconsolate. Obviously would have taken 2-2 at the outset, but we've massively spurned a chance to get out of the bottom 4 and move above Orient. 2-1 up and our lad is through with only the GK to beat, is hauled down and we are rightly awarded a penalty. The icing (supposedly) is the culprit is sent off. The normally reliable Ross Hannah steps up ... and misses. We come out the second half and invite Orient to try their best to score and hey ho they duly score from 30+ yards. Two fairly evenly matched teams and it could have gone either way from there on. If we'd buried that penalty we'd have been home and dry. We make it very hard for ourselves and we still have that awful habit of inviting teams on when we should be keeping possession and controlling the game. Not sure if we'll stay up throwing away winning positions like that. At least I haven't got to sit on a coach for the next 4 hours.
Wish it had only been four hours! :(

We have a punishing lack of quality among the available players in our squad. The defensive upgrades brought in during the summer, who I have no doubt would have made a world of difference, are out until after Christmas having both broken down after 2 or 3 games at the start of the season. Meanwhile Kosylo, Brown, Garner and Denton appear to be on a rota for suspension and injuries so that all 4 are rarely available at the same time.
Now is the time to dig in and back the team and for the BoD to support their manager with some cash for signings.
If there's one thing Halifax fans know how to do supremely better than anyone else, thanks to decades of experience, it's backing a losing team. :bdick::bdick::bdick:

Easy win against poor opposition last night. First half hour was the best we’ve played all season. After that it was just a training sesh.

433 worked out nicely for us. Only change I’d make is Franks for an out of his depth Rodney for the Ebbsfleet game.

Munns just can’t get a look in at the moment. Doesn’t seem to fit any system we roll out

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this opinion of Rodney. I thought he was relatively awful last night, but most people around me thought he played well.

Rodney out for Franks and Harrison out for anyone on Saturday please. I think Munns could play the same role Newton played last night, but don't think he'll get a look in unless a few injuries occur.

I know you were 2-0 down after 7 minutes which must've knocked the stuffing out of your team, but you were easily the poorest team we've played so far. Eclipsing Chester by some way. You really didn't offer anything apart from a few long balls into the box for the tall striker. He is awful by the way, but still could've had a hat trick.

Just watched the highlights. Both your goals were preventable, but we've not had a decent GK for years. From my seat it looked as though it had gone in, but the highlights are inconclusive, but doesn't look in. The lino will have seen it though. I'm annoyed that Bell (end) didn't just knock the ball in the net. I suppose the missed pen makes up for the possibility that our goal never went in. That's 3 undefeated away, but we've only won 2 home games in the past 11 or 12 months. I'm beginning to lose hope. I hope you do well this season. You've got the best ground in this league with Tranmere.

Problem with Munns is he's a bit lightweight and away from home in a centre midfield three, we'd get bullied considering we'd have Woods and Featherstone alongside him, that combo wouldn't work. He's a classic false 9/10 role, just behind a striker. That seems the only way we can fit him in. Strange that our 'marquee' signing might as well be buried under a real one the amount of game time he gets.

Rodney needs to go out on loan and get away from the boo boys, get some confidence.

Liked the look of Adiloye when he came on, fast and skillful. But I'd have Franks in my XI every week in this league. Harrison is shite but is Ledger fit enough yet?

Leyton Orient and Tranmere, clubs who were in league 1 not too long ago, have the best grounds in the league? I doubt that.

Are you sure you aren't getting confused with Solihull and Borham Wood?

Wasn't that long ago we were in L1 either. Even though the Vic has gone to the dogs a bit in recent years, still one of the top 3/4 in this league.

Prenton Park is a bit better than Brisbane Road though to be fair.

Brisbane Road's probably on a par with The Racecourse, with the vic sitting behind and Prenton sitting on top of the fabled stadium table.

I'll vote Solihull for the worst ground.

Bromley have rescheduled the game for next Tuesday and offered a £5 refund to all supporters with a ticket who attend (which is a nice gesture). Just need to make sure I can take time off work and i'll be there.

Yeah, it's a strange one. It's not as if he's even tried to fit him in either. Just been left to fester on the bench. He was one signing in the summer that was pretty much unanimously praised down here. I don't think Newton particularly showed any strength, though he didn't need to either.

Agree on the rest. Ledger shouldn't be on the bench if he isn't fit enough for me. Playing him right back isn't going to give him much confidence either. I do think he may have looked a lot better than he is by being alongside Watson earlier in the season, but he will still be 10x better than Scott Harrison.

Yeah. No goals yet, but he runs around more than our Adam Morgan. Not too much to say about him I'm afraid. It's surprising he's the same Tomlinson some of our fans were moaning about not signing a few seasons earlier.

Not feeling comfortable about today because we're a team with a terrible record playing another team with a terrible record. I really hope we win but my imagination doesn't extend far enough to envisage how that might happen. Our usual jackals who were calling for Heath's head when he first joined, when he won promotion, and when he lost the first game of this season, will be recruiting the gullible to decry the team selection, kick off, goals we score/concede, substitutions. If managing Halifax Town weren't like writing a symphony for Stalin then who knows where we'd be.

When he was here on loan Hurst picked him ahead of Amond and Bogle despite him scoring 0 goals.

Wide left of a front 3, although most of his goals were in and around the 6 yard box from set pieces or coming in at the back post. He just had a knack of picking up balls around those two areas.

Technically, he was pretty poor though. Ran around a lot and worked hard but you'd not see him taking men on or playing through balls etc. He managed to miss 10 odd games in his first season here through suspension (5, 10 and 15 yellows with 2 reds, I think)!
