Explain why? Do you think money grows on trees at our club? A club without a wealthy benefactor (we're fans owned) and zero non match day revenue streams other than a clubhouse that has pretty much been shut due to the pandemic? We now have zero full time staff at the club to cut costs and even let one of our first team coaches go last week because we can't afford him.

We've sold 500 season tickets, raised just under £60,000 from supporters via a StonesShare scheme and make money from streaming home games. And that's it. Even £7k is a stretch for the club and only achievable because of the £60k raised in the last few weeks.

You’ve got 23 players that’s £300 per week pre tax, not in a hells chance your paying players such a small amount to play at this level in the London area. If funds were that tight you wouldn’t have that many players, maybe 18-20 at a maximum.

Reminds me of when Garry Hill claimed our wage bill was around £7k a week while we had Rendell, Betsy, Murtagh, Payne, Ricketts and Dean Morgan.

It’s the lowest budget seen at this level since Part-Time Woking a few years back.

Haha great minds think alike...

Dowson even tried to claim we only had a “mid table budget” when we were in the Conference South!

The reality is that there is a still a big hole in the budget. 60K was fantastic but we need to raise five times that to be competitive. We genuinely are paupers of this division.

Bit late but I must give my tuppenceworth with regards to last night's game

Yes it's great to see intense, relentless pressing, but without turning that into more chances created and goals put away then it's all academic. It shouldn't keep taking subs and a switch-up in formation to win games, which has happened four times in a row now. How's about putting a game to bed before half time, eh, lads?

Stockport bleedin' County... even when we're good, we don't make it easy for ourselves.

Managed to cut out the gifting away of a goal for once, now if we could cut out the silly fouls that lead up to the opposition scoring that'd be nice, such as the one Stott gave away for Chesterfield's goal or the one at the end which could have thrown away two points.

We all know Connor Jennings is a superb player but right now he's not fitting into things and being wasteful, probably the only real disappointment of the season so far, it's not like we don't have other options. I know Minihan got the award but I think Kitching would've been MotM for me, he absolutely dominates that entire left flank. Maynard is another nominee, he similarly dominates the middle of the park.

Not hard to guess who the Villain of the Match is... it's one thing to ignore a defender stopping the ball go in with an outstretched arm when you're looking right at it and nobody is in the way... but it's another to ignore players with open headwounds and let play go on. That ref was not just inept, but downright dangerous.

I’m still fewmin about it 24 hours later. You could see what was going to happen fairly early on and that second half performance...to add to other fairly average second half performances.

some of the teams struggling financially will skew the league this year and I reckon it’s gonna be 95+ points to win the league. Just can’t see us getting anywhere near that atm.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Wealdstone are getting on my tits already.
Whilst thinking about tits, I was wondering if a “big budget hole “could be fanny-waving ?

What one earth was the Wealdstone defender doing for one of the Wrexham goals? Looked like he had it under control, had a brain fart and it spun in!
