Hearing of some players likely to be released...hopefully we've got suitable replacements coming in but frig me we're a few weeks in and the squad is all over the place. Josh Thomas was released yesterday but due to personal reasons rather than performances, he's currently injured anyway and unfortunately thats a bit of a recurring theme.

If Groves has any sense... Piggott goes back to Solihull, Harrison goes down a league on loan to get his confidence back and McGilp never sets foot in Gloucester again.

Heard you could be getting Daly back. He wasn't in the Stourbridge team at the weekend

Daly brings some height which is massively needed and he won't stand for that kind of performance, but anyone that ran at him he's in trouble. Better than what we have right now mind you. Hearing Alex Whittle could be on his way back too.

keep the players for next week!

saying that new players or not the Curzon tactic should be simple and go all out for it at Gloucester early……..them nerves at the back line will be enormous, early away goal it may crumble.

Dave, its clear that the young Gloucester players just dont relish a challenge, our lads harried them and invariably won the ball time after time, granted it was one of those days when every attempt seemed to be on target and several of them flew in. Go at them and you will cause problems.

Sadly I'd agree, technically very good but an absolute punch of ponces.

Wont stand for conceding 9 goals on the weekend but conceded 8 the week before?

Why did you not sign on Leon Clarke when you recently had him on trial ? Saturday he looked class for us.

Don't know specific reason why they chose not to but he refused to wear the appropriate footwear for our pitch, always wore studs which can invalidate the pitch warranty. Assume they thought he was a bit of a bellend because of that.

An ITK poster confirmed it the day after my educated guess - 20k apparently.
Wow. There was strong rumours we were trying to sign him with the Hyde money but they wanted too much. Are we really that skint? Must have been off the mark that rumour.

Not the draw we had hoped for. We might have 5 defeats in the league by the time this game comes round
It’s a game between two teams who were hit by covid pre season and it’s taken time for both of us to get over this and get the players back to match fitness, the players who actually had covid are still struggling and look a shadow of there former selves.

I do t want to be the grim reaper but do t just ‘assume’ it will get better.

Carlisle were top last Christmas when from all accounts half the squad maybe more had COVID during the big rise over December. It took them months to recover and they had one win in 13 games in early 2021.

could be months before recovery

Apparently they were after a lot more when we were originally interested on making it a perm during his loan spell (before he went to shit). Heard 100k mentioned so guessing they probably asked for somewhere in the middle from you guys.

Darlo fans that Erico Sousa we got off you is fucking mint, he will end up playing at a much higher level than we’re currently at.
What a baller.
You’re welcome, I’ll be down Blundell Park in a few weeks with me Grimsby mates for a game.

Hoping to see a Sousa masterclass, as usual.

DarkSithLord - I hear Alfreton have signed Ritchie Sutton on loan from us, and that you have also signed Yusifu Ceesay?

Your hear correct. Decent signings? Ceesay has always looked ok and hopefully Ritchie Sutton brings some defensive solidility
Sutton is a very good CH, surprised he hasnt played more for Alty but had some injuries last year and will score some goals as well for you from set pieces.
Ceesay is frustrating, can be unplayable but his final balls often disappoint. He's that fast its said he can catch pigeons ;)

I've never seen Sutton.

Ceesay is interesting. When he first turned up he looked very raw and unfinished, like he could be anything. Unfortunately, I think he just looks raw and unfinished. He looks ungainly, but he's faster than you think. I saw him have maybe 2 great games for us, the rest were average to middling.

Though I didn't go, I believe he had a stormer in the 7-0 at yours a couple of years ago.
