Solid if unremarkable but I feel that's the role he's playing. Keeping everything ticking over. He's being used as a holding CM at the moment. Still way to early to judge really but looks like he's a good player

Solid but unremarkable is pretty much his MO. Pretty much a guaranteed 7 every game.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
So does this mean the rule changes from today are not due in effect with football.

season will never finish if they cancel every time 2-3 players test positive

The Chester game against Curzon has been rearranged for the 25th so it’s good planning that every midweek is free at the start of the season so games can be fixed up and played as soon as the isolation period is finished, so shouldn’t be a massive backlog of games.

A surprisingly high number of players are refusing to get vaccinated.

Tough game this wkd at home to Boston. Think we’re a bit short with the bookies. Looking forward to it. They looked decent when we played them last season

no late cancellation so looking like get to Curzon vs Guisley tomorrow……shame cannot take my kid as expected but while I am now out of my positive covid isolation he isn’t ah well.

thinking this important even early for Curzon, table for me is split into different groups and guisley like Curzon are in the possibly relegated group, vital to win these games really.

Have you got any Cb's returning for you. Didn't realise you had Gloucester next as well. Very tough start for you
Apparently not, thought we might of signed a couple of loan players.
Also 2 more missing tomorrow would be happy with a point.

Curzon 1-0 Guisley at half time

pretty scrappy even game really. Both hard working but lack that bit of quality for me for either to be dangerous.

probably Guisley slightly better after 30 minutes but their defence has been shocking and doesn’t watch runners, sent Curzon away one on one twice, the first missed the second wasn’t.

Curzon had another couple of chances before Guisley had their first big chance just before break missing when clear through.

Won 1 nil. Deserved. Good start from us. I see York got murdered. Started poorly as have the team we beat today. Kidderminster off to a flyer and Spennymoor also started well. Happy Saturday everybody

Think we need a covid outbreak.Got to be lowest day in our history.
Bottom of dog and duck league and to simply play last 30 mins without 1 defender is either very unlucky or spent budget wrong.

we have,
Duckworth right back injured
Barrow left back injured till xmas
King centre back injured since pre season
Brown centre back injured since pre season.
Newton centre back went off today injured.
Donaldson injured against kiddy
Gilchrist injured pre season.

will be lucky to get play offs.

I said it last week and I'll say it again. Sam Austin is up there as one of the best in the division at the moment.

First half was very scrappy and Carrington was probably our best player just keeping things calm. Nobody could get a grip of the game though. Second half completely different. Freemantle smashed home the first after a beautiful reverse pass by Austin that even caught Freemantle out. Freemantle then set up Austin as he just softly placed it into the bottom corner. Then the third Hemmings intercepted a pass and ran from inside our half and drilled it across the goal.

First time since 90/91 that we've won our opening 2 games.

Watson needs to take some blame, only having 5 defenders on books for 4 positions is appalling.
He has 4 strikers for 2 positions.
Yes unlucky with injuries but can’t listen to his bull shit anymore buck stops with him.

Massively off the pace in the first half and went two down early on. Not playing or training for a few weeks to blame for that. Much better after the break and finished strong to grab a point but should have won it in added time.

Im got an admission to make I made the cardinal sin of allowing myself to be carried away by our decent pre season.

Terrible start. One shot on target in two games. Toothless. Done by a screamer from Brackley today but we arent gonna win many football matches if you cant find the net.

I stand by the fact we have some decent footballers.
Problem being Billy Heath has now idea how to manage them at all.
Struggling to see why he should remain in post

I remember having a discussion a few seasons ago on our troubled managers with who'll leave first?
Billy Heath or Tommy Wright.....I was thinking at the time down at your place Heath screaming from the touchline. Why can't Wright be like Heath. Ours just stood with his arms folded! Fuckin useless...

1-1 in the end, probably a fair reflection although Curzon will rue some big moments flogged.

Guisley came out better second half and soon got level although the defending for it was shocking almost like Curzon had 5 players trying to score an own goal.

with it being an early goal Curzon we’re rattled, Guisley positive and had to hang on although Guisley created little to nothing when on top.

Curzon made changes and dominated last 20 mins, could and should have done better at goal, too many extra touches or passes.

bith will struggle think Curzon’s issue may be lack of pace especially at back, but Curzon will take a few games to settle they use their pre season games for trialists so takes couple of games to get going.

so sorry for them with crowd only 250 and yet they are offering anyone from Manchester £5 tickets if an adult and free if under 16…………just never going to grow, but seems a mama Chester thing apart from Stockport all other manc sides struggle to grow fannases.

Good crowds at Gloucester and Spennymoor. Those Alfreton, Gateshead and Curzon crowds must be a concern for clubs. Not glamorous ties for any of them but the first home game in a long time for a lot of clubs and that's all they can muster.

Gateshead rarely managed attendances higher than that when they were a step 1 club pushing for the playoffs.

Its poor for Curzon because they are offering the best deals in the league by a mile, I gave a tenner yesterday but can pay just £5.

althoigh it’s tough yesterday Man City we’re playing same time and are just 6 tram stops or 15 minute drive away
