You can’t write this shit,we have had four games at 2K capacity the council have lifted it to 4K,it’s a 40 million pound stadium that should house 8500.
On a positive note got 4 back in training including 3 defenders so might be able to field a defence for Saturday.
Hilarous you lot. Not gonna lie seeing you bottom is piss funny. Brackley and Spennymoor are tough games too coming up.

Wasn't John Johnston really highly rated at Alty? Always looked quality for them
Yes he was but Chester dont seem to get the best out of him for some odd reason. Anyway we have some better wingers now like Mooney and Jackson :gmc:

Evening everyone
I’m a newbie to the forum and a Chorley supporter

Just going to add my thoughts here as I’m unsure if there are any fellow Chorley supporters on here.

Im extremely worried about us this year, I have always felt we were susceptible at the back but this year I feel more uneasy than ever. We will continue to let in goals this year.

We have two decent strikers who are still to play together in Hall & Cardwell, but the service they get is lacklustre and we have 0 creativity.

I’m extremely happy with the signing of Billy Whitehouse, he is a breath of fresh air but we are just lacking that final piece of the jigsaw going forward.

Losing to 10 man Telford at the weekend with no heart on display left me deflated.

I do hope this Saturday we can finally see our strongest 11 with Cardwell due back.

No, you are not alone but I think there are just the 2 of us. Agree with most of what you say though personally think Whitehouse lacks end product but its early days. I do see us struggling to stay away from the relegation zone.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Just watched the highlights and that is 3 teams now live seen (including Curzon) where the defenders look slow as anything, chesters seem to have concrete boots. Was one moment a Curzon player beat about 5 Chester players and nearly scored by simply knocking the ball a little bit forward and chasing it……worked a treat.

having some quick zippy attackers may pay real dividends this season.

couple of good goals though then a bad in for them at death

You’ve started well. What at your aspirations for the season. Playoff push?

As I am a Carlisle fan who follows Curzon due to moving to that area I’m a little more realist to it all than die hard longer term Curzon fans are.

they like any fans go into this season thinking the signings are better this year than previous and can have a good go at it.

I look at it as a club with 200 fans in a league full of sides I went to see with Carlisle in the 90’s and early 00’s in the football league……to compete same levels is ridiculous.

realistically they should be in happy with 4th bottom and survival. Curzon here is like Carlisle at Championship level.

They have made good signings this year, Stockport money has meant a good clump of their decent conf north players left and Curzon for now the ideal fall back especially with covid meaning people don’t want mass upheaval right now.

I think this season is their best chance to push a top half play off attack before the likes of FCUM, Macc and Bury get into positions to attract the best non league manc players.

bit realistically they survive again it’s job done

To be fair Chesters CBs have a combined age of 160.

Livesey is still fine, he'll get outpaced now and then but his intelligence will get him out of trouble. One season too many for Grand though I think.

We've barely trained for 3 weeks as well due to the covid break, so lacking fitness.

Not a clue after the last week.

had you asked me a week ago my thinking was it is normally a bit too much 3 games in quick succession for a small part time club, with Boston a strong promotion favourite whack a mixed team for that game and save strength for Darlo at home.

now you have Boston under early pressure who may well get early grumbles from home fans if not winning after 20-30 mins, plus Curzon riding high off a massive win………..I’d now say try and ride the wave and go for it.

get an early goal and ramp up that pressure on a Boston side expected to do better.

Last time we won our opening 3 games was 79/80. Southport won't be easy especially away but we need results against this sort of team if we're going to be up there for the end of the season.

Looks like we won’t be challenging,Newton out for 6 weeks and kings first game back has been put back family member testing positive.
1 defender again for next 2 games and a 17 year loan player.
Flyde to lose this season.

Coming here and reading about Andy Owens and Craig Hobson is causing me to re-experience the shittiest Alty side I've ever seen, the 2016-17 shower.

Next, someone will say Danny Hattersley has signed for them.
Cant believe we signed Owen's, he really is crap, it's ok saying he works hard, it's just he doesn't score doesn't win balls in the air, can't play!

Johnston was consistently very good and occasionally unplayable at Alty, I find it quite sad what's happened to him.
He's only a fine margin away from being unplayable now, he'll go on a dribble and run past players for fun but his decison making at the end of it is terrible, usually hangs on to the ball too long and runs up a blind alley.

He's overthinking and his game isn't coming naturally, AKA 'trying too hard'.

I bet you wish you had that ex Clitheroe player Alex Newby back in the team along with Nick Haughton! I'll never forget that 4-1 drubbing on that evening. When man of the match Haughton tore us apart I wanted to go home after half-time, could have been six or seven if it wasn't for our keeper.

I haven't got a clue what to expect? After 532 days since the team played a league game. All I ask for is a bit of effort from our players on the day in which I know they'll be a bit rusty, especially after a long absence from league footy!
