Brackley is about an hour from London or 45 mins from Birmingham, or 30 mins from MK. There's not a lot locally, but hardly isolated.

I've watched the crowds grow from around 200 to now around 500 a game, and it is nice to see these days the supporters aren't just old men or kids who can't go anywhere else, as was the case 15 years ago.
Public transport wise it's not well connected though, it's difficult to get in and out of. Compare with Chester which is a huge rail & bus interchange where you can easily and quickly wander out to all sorts of places. The Liverpool and Manchester trains home to Chester on a Saturday evening for example are heaving, and there's 4 an hour from the former and 3 from the latter.

We appear to have poached your Head Groundman Harrier94!

Rude. But fair enough he's done a cracking job considering the amount of games that have been played on the pitch this season with our cup run and Wolves U23's playing. Kept the pitch looking very good also tactically coating it in sand for the Reading and West Ham games to disrupte them which seemed to work.

Spennymoor complete double midfielder swoop.

Danny Greenfield (Gateshead) and Joe Wheatley (Darlington) are Moor's first two signings of the summer.

Dan Leadbitter re-signs, top player for this level and before his injury our most consistent performer.

Are you looking to sign any of the three players you had on loan from us who have been released ?

We've signed Tom Leak from Walsall. Young CB who's getting a lot of praise from their fans

Hope so. Would love Tomlinson, Martinez and Hulbert would be good acquisitions too although if we didn't sign another forward I'd be a little concerned if we're so reliant on him again.

Big big ouch. First I'd heard of it, though I know Ndlovu was close to leaving last year. Not surprising - but very disappointing... two of the best 5 players we have.
Double ouch ouch - top top players, all about how Wilkin rebuilds now. Think this has been coming, and if the guys have gone higher, good luck to them. Ellis Myles off to Boston too. Big challenge at SJP next season.

We're also a town where people from other areas go to die, and where young people from the town leave to live. Throw in the mix of people growing up in Everton and Liverpool supporting families, and we've got an uphill struggle in terms of both attracting and keeping fans.
Hi Swedes ~ we've just signed Liam Edwards. He had a period of loan with you. Is he any good and if so what are his strengths.

He's had two spells with us. The first was in the National League, and even though he is a central defender he spent some time playing as an anchor man in front of the back 4 and still looked quality.

This season he was great when he played, and was a part of our long unbeaten run. He stepped in and organised the defence, he reads the game brilliantly, and is quite happy bringing the ball out from the back. He didn't play many games though as he struggled with injury, which is unsurprising after nearly 2 years out of the game with significant injury problems.

If he was fit I'd have wanted us to go all out to sign him, but if he was fit he'd be a Football League player. If his game time is managed we'll you've got a player on your hands, but don't expect 30+ games from him.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Curzon have made their main signing today.

Josh Hancock who was at Altrincham I am assuming a bit like with ex Stockport players last summer we have benefitted from them going full time and him wanting part time.

48 goals in the last 3 seasons in either conference or conference north.

I still have big doubts about the manager and think for his style we need a good hold up man going forward, but we’ve made some excellent additions this summer, used their scouting network of Manchester to find in form lower league talent then added 3-4 experienced and proven at this level to it.

Josh is a fantastic player and a lovely guy and will improve you massively, he was VG at NL level never mind NLN. He has a very good job say was never going fulltime, we will miss him greatly. He will improve your play and score you loads of goals as an attacking midfielder, his nickname is hammer foot, expect some screamers !
Connor Hampson is VG too and they both will work well with your other ex Alty boys. Good luck next season.

Gotta say Curzon have made some very astute signings so far! In other news, what on earth is happening at Kettering?!

Was wondering this they've been absolutely gutted since the end of the season. Big rebuilding job for Glover there. Can't say I know anything about him or his previous managerial experience.

Got to say think Boston have made the best of the early signings so far. Some real statement signings, but imagine they'll be desperate to hold on to Danny Elliott otherwise that is a lot of goals to replace.

Saw Shane Byrne posting on Twitter he has been released by Boston, wondering if Wilkin will get the band back together and bring him back to Brackley. Would be a good signing for most sides in this league.

Excellent effort from our loyal supporters but without that money we wouldn't have a team and most likely wouldn't be in this league playing NLN football. I totally get it I've stood in the away end it's absolutely pants.

Also other areas of Shitwell Meadows needs improving for match day experience for home and away fans to get a reasonable view and I can't see that ever happening spending our hard earned cash it's just simply not worth it. Majority of Darlo supporters can't stand the place.
Do the rugby team still play on it?

Yeah and it does show some games with the pitch all cut up, and markings to go with it. I hope we do find somewhere in the future to call home instead of sharing with a tin pot rugby club.

Were you able to access grants for the improvements you made?

NLN team of the year, yet released. Maybe told Cox where to go, or they are having to trim costs.
Well if he fancies a return... there's not a lot of Nat League East / East Midland teams to choose from. But maybe he'll have priced himself out of it... as I presumably he wouldn't have gone to Boston last year for less money.

If he came back, Lomas stays, and we found a striker who scored goals, then my current gloom might lift. Do you think Twariq could be moulded into a new Lowe?

Any York fans on here still?

We’ve been linked with Akil Wright - is he a DM?

Good enough for League Two?
