Oh well, congratulations to Brackley who were the better side today, I feared we set up not to lose rather than to win, but it's easy to be wise with the benefit of hindsight, Introduction of Johnston was much too late but let's see what happens in close season, will we go full time, only time will tell. Think Brackley might finally get thro to the National League.
Hard luck, always a tough way for a season to end in the playoffs.

Is FT on the cards for Chorley?

Division is going to be stacked with FT teams at this rate. Scunthorpe, Kings Lynn, Kidderminster and South Shields already to add to Buxton who are transitioning to FT, potentially Macclesfield to get promoted and then yourselves. Boston training under a hybrid model I believe. Already looking like a very competitive league next year.

Brackley v Boston is a final between my two 'local' (other than Bishop's Stortford) NLN sides! Boston play better football but Brackley have been solid for years and probably just about deserve their time. Couldn't see them faring any better than Oxford City this year though if they were to go up.

There has been discussion about switching to full time for next season, Chorley have been operating a hybrid system his season and the indications are that full time is planned for next season. Time will tell I suppose.

Don't think anyone would disagree if we could win another coin flip next week that we'd be favourites to finish bottom unless a club got into meltdown
Meandered between 6th and 10th pretty much all season but keeping clean sheets at the right time, even though we've been slightly 2nd best in both games

Again though, another advert to get rid of penalties in playoff games. Just send the higher team through if it ends level
Neither team was arsed about winning with 15 mins to go, even scunny who had us on the ropes as we got leggy in extra time
Boston lads were enjoying themselves on the pitch with all the facebook photos i've seen
Good luck in the final

I'm now waiting for the meltdown of Boston fans when they find out they'll get 700 tickets for the away end. Happened to us last year and our fans weren't happy.

Kiddy fans were absolutely right not to be happy. What actually was the overall attendance last year?

I know all sorts of factors are taken into consideration to determine the away allocation and the overall attendance permitted. And if Brackley's capacity is still the 3,500 shown on some websites, it means there'll not be anywhere near that figure allowed.

Chorley were allocated 1,000 tickets for yesterday, but took 387 - so, even if Chorley had sold-out, it would only have been an attendance of 2,500. So, still 1,000 below capacity and you'd think that would mean there ought to be scope to accommodate more than 1,000 visiting supporters.

If our followings at Alfreton (929) and Scunthorpe (1,455) are taken into consideration, you’d hope that we would be allocated at least the same 1,000 Chorley were.

It will all depend, of course, how the Brackley ground could be configured for segregation to allow for a higher away allocation, and any 'political decision' being made to try and make sure the home support is not outnumbered by the away support in a match being broadcast live on TV.

I would not be surprised at all if our allocation ends up being exactly what Harrier94 has suggested!!

Attendence max will probably be 2500 - usually is. I get a little tired of the 'absolutely furious' point - be it from Halifax, Kidderminstyer or now Boston. We're a small town club, not an ex-league one. You want more fans to be able to attend... finish above us in the league. As i've said before, watched us lose 7 times in plaoffs and never won once. Clearly we have a good chance, but thought that last year. Also could see us doing an Oxford City, but frankly, it would be nice just to get the chance.

Might be misremembering but I think our allocation was slightly lower (than Chorley's this seasom for example) as it came right off the back of the pitch invasion at Chester who targeted the Brackley fans and think it spooked the local police, etc. into reducing the Harriers allocation.

Appreciate Brackley is a small town and ground, but I think the frustration came from our number of season ticket holders being larger than the allocation we were given, so the club couldn't even guarantee ST holders the option to purchase a ticket.

Since when did Boston And Kidderminster become all bertie big bollocks away followings?

Always brought just a handful to Darlo even in the league?

Not saying we always have massive followings. Just saying there was a meltdown from our fans and there will probably be a meltdown from Boston fans.

You get all the big game fans who attend 5 games a season hopping on the bandwagon and wanting tickets and getting furious they aren't going on general sale.

Don't all clubs' away followings become much bigger in the bigger games? .... well, perhaps not Chorley's.

Wouldn't Darlington, for example, have a 'bertie big bollocks away following' too if they were involved in the Play-Offs?

Darlo brought 82 supporters to Boston this season, I'm pretty sure you'd be bringing, at the very least, 10 times that number if it was Boston United v Darlington in this Saturday's Play-Off Final.

Good point ..... if we want more fans to be able to attend we should, indeed, have finished above you in the league.

By the same token, though, the simple answer to 'it would be nice just to get the chance' is to win the playoffs, especially when both last year and this year your opponents in the final finished lower than you in the league.

FWIW I think you will win this year. Without diminishing our resilience at both Alfreton and Scunthorpe, I don't think either of them played at the same level as Brackley did at Boston only very recently when you were 2-1 victors. Play to that standard again, and you've got a very good chance of achieving the promotion you so crave.

And, if you do, the very best of luck .... and I hope that you don't actually 'do an Oxford City'.

To be fair, 82 away fans on a Tuesday night considering how the season was going at the time is bloody excellent.

In our play off game at Chorley we had 250 fans, considering we only get 150 fans at home that has to be one of the biggest percentage ratios you can get!!

northern premier semi finals happened tonight and we have our final.

Macclesfield 3-1 Worksop
Marine 1-0 Warrington rylands

So it’s Macclesfield vs marine for promotion.

Not sure which I’d rather have, Macclesfield good for the away support income and I’ve ground to visit but we inflate the wage demands and frankly b*gger up the Manchester semi pro market as they buy 3 separate teams over the season.

Marine is a ground I always wanted to go to so tempted with that one.

The police were a disgrace that day. Plenty of them there, but they were all sitting in their vans near the Postal Centre. We saw them all legging it over, but it was too late to stop the morons. If they are going to have to be there then they need at least to be doing some policing.

Marine is only a two and a half-sided ground.

I’d say that isn’t going to be much of an issue for the curzon away support.

Yourselves a bigger issue.

Southport will want marine just to get rid of that bloody curzon vs Southport Boxing Day game!!

I'd rather Macc for an away day perspective but I think they'd be a real threat next year

I could see both them and Radcliffe being immediate playoff contenders

On that note our vice chairman has tweeted that clubs have voted to scrap the festive double header. Reverse fixtures will now be at Easter instead.

Macc with inevitably come up and be a nuisance at some point soon even if isn't going to be next season, might as well get them up and out the way sooner rather than later!

It would be nice to get Southport away on a normal Saturday so I can go knowing my luck it will be midweek.

Macc are a basket case club who I don’t see troubling because they will be too busy constantly relaxing their manager and starting 11 to trouble in this league.

Radcliffe could well cause issues but I don’t have a clue where their money is coming from or how long it’s sustainable.

The owner is a fairly wealthy businessman. I doubt they have the financial pull to push on again. They’d need to make improvements to the stadium for a start.

Contract has expired and we’re not extending it.

Huge call now on who our next manager is
