Yeah I heard he was with you. He started off slowly but then really made the centre mid spot his, very busy player that gets up and down the pitch. Seems a bit scared to shoot but not really his job, breaks up play well. Good player.

Funnily enough I was just gonna post that we have Ed Williams on trial with us. Think he's hoping for a FT outfit after being in the US but given he lives here and his mates are now back with us and not Chippenham hopefully we've got a chance of getting a deal done.

Hadn't realised that Williams had left Chippenham. Hopefully he can get back to his best back at Gloucester.

Clem what's your expectation this season? Lower play-offs or higher?

As it stands lower down the table, like 13-17th. If we can get 3/4 quality players in then play offs are possible.

How have Brackley managed to scam Crawley so easily? They sign a player a month ago and then sell him for an undisclosed fee.

Scam? He was under contract, so I guess that's what they were paying for. I bet its penuts.

Kartell Dawkins signed from Bromsgrove, for a 19 year old trialist he's looked really tidy in the games he's appeared in. On the flipside we've also announced Ioan Richards. He was total gash last time he was here, he was part of the Taunton Southern Prem League winning side since then but I hope he's massively improved. Not impressed with that one at all.

Seriously lacking in squad depth at our place.

We’ll be lucky to be anywhere in the top half this year.
No investment, lose our captain and best centre back. Lose our striker and winger.

Injuries lol. Nah in all honesty when he first signed he looked ok enough, but had a dreadful game at Blyth near the start of the season giving away a calamity of a goal and then got injured 20 minutes or so later. We then barely saw him as he was out for so long and when he was declared fit King never played him

Surely he's not already injured?!

Let's hope you are right, I would much prefer a top striker to Vermo as Chairman. Desperately need 2 strikers and a Centre Back.

Chorley have finally announced a signing, Centre back, Mark Ellis joins following his release from Barrow, very pleased with this, he is the experienced old head we need in defence. Just need another defender and a couple of strikers and we are ready to go.

Weird summer this year with Curzon it’s been very bland and am not used to bland.

Usually most of the team goes, another rebuild etc etc.

We lost the top scorer and goalkeeper which were big losses but replaced goalie with a very suitable replacement and kept most of rest of side.

Plus it’s such a weak looking league this season in respect of no one stands out as a strong candidate unlike previous years, unsure at all where curzon will go this year

I've seen our game against Curzon is unsegregated, is this normal?

We have quite a few stupid fans who like to look for a fight and I feel like this will end badly.

It's very normal there.

If your fans include the type who would boot off on the tea lady, then they might find some aggro. Curzon Ashton are probably the team in this league who present the least amount of off-the-field bother. There will be more chance that your fans end up fighting amongst themselves.

We do have a lot of those fans unfortunately. We've often created/had trouble at different Manchester area clubs (Bury especially) for some reason.

Curzon has a ground that holds about 5000 people and they get crowds of 2-300 there simply isn’t a need to bother with segregation really.

One of the things you will need to get used to us in segregated grounds, lack of toilet facilities, outnumbering hole support and getting beaten by said side

Most get too embarrassed to attack at the smaller clubs.

Holli fans are all about being Billy big b*llocos, their profile isn’t going to drastically go up bullying Curzon or farsley.

Segregation to Chester may be interesting because of fallback from their play off game but realistically I can only remember Halifax fans reacting violently to the fact that they were losing to Curzon.

I’d like to think when Scunthorpe arrive they will be more impressed with the ground (great for this level) the World Cup winners statue outside, the pitch (best in league for me) and the fact curzon will try and out football them, rather than see it as a violence moment.

Violence this season - nailed on at the lamb. First game against Scunthorpe I bet. It’s sold out.
Tamworth have a history of trouble - game last season was abandoned against Nuneaton for fighting. It’s a rough town, I live not far away.

I remember when Carlisle were in conference there was an incident at Tamworth when one of their fans gave Andy Preece racist abuse and he stopped playing, in fairness to their other fans if i remember rightly they plucked him out of their crowd and gave him to stewards.

I was thinking for the likes of Scunthorpe it will be Peterborough sports, Banbury etc etc going to be their culture shock.

Scunthorpe isn’t the most prosperous town around but when you’ve been to North Peterborough that’s something else.

Hope no segregation for us this time at Curzon but you never know after the play-off game. Never been any issues before. It will often just depend on circumstances. Take Blyth for example, they segregated against us the first time, didn’t the second time or third time but then did again last season but abandoned it as soon as everyone was in the ground as they realised everyone was friendly and there was no need.

Can’t stand Hereford away now as if you take any sort of sizeable away following virtually every pub in town refuses entry to away fans. They’d rather sit empty as there was no home fans in them. Club do let you in the bar at the ground though.

With the season starting on Saturday, anyone brave enough to put their neck on the line and predict the final league table?

The strength of squad Scunny have put together and full time status should really make them favourites. But there's just so much uncertainty around the operating situation. Don't like to see clubs in trouble given our own historical issues, so hope it's all resolved for them.

Behind them think Chester, Boston, Kings Lynn, Buxton and Brackley are all playoff candidates. And as usual in this league there are a bunch of maybe candidates (Alfreton, Chorley, Spenny, South Shield, Scarborough, Hereford) Darlo included who could be a playoff side give the right runs at the right times.

At the bottom of the league think it will be tough seasons for Blyth, Banbury, see of Bishop Stortford can get over their northern nose bleeds to be up for the challenge. Cant say I know much about Rushall or Tamworth to know how they'll fair.

I think this is probably the hardest to predict season in the 7 I have seen in conference north……isn’t anything stands out really.

Quite afew Sides got culled, 3-4 clubs seem to have relaxed about 15 players in a squad and some of the more
Favoured sides like Kings Lynn, Soutj Shields have frankly added nothing or got worse than previous season…….maybe financial issues.

I’m split for title on 2 clubs, whether to go with Chester who as such kept solid last season if not spectacular, have not got massively weaker but not massively stronger either but assume with more stability it will gel better.

Or Buxton as a bit of a dark horse, they had fantastic form in the last period of the season, lost a couple but replaced with experience and have a little bit of finding behind them.

The rest is …….god knows, says it all tjat as it stands I can easily see curzon being 3rd or 3rd bottom as league so similar. If we can find a goal scorer in amongnoir replacements I can see a strong seaso but we have to finally beat the crap in the division, twice last two seasons missed on play offs as we hardly took any points off bottom 6 sides.

Got to be Scunthorpe for the title for me, spent a stupid amount of money on ridiculously good players (Lets see if they get paid on time though especially with how dodgy the owner seems).

Think Buxton will be there or thereabouts as they've spent silly money this season so far.

Think Scunny may self implode if it doesn’t go right, spending big doesn’t always get the results Stockport could tell you that season on season or York. They need better stability for me before it goes right on pitch, they will face many smaller, less expensive sides who are just better organised across the whole set-up.

Saying that the conf north can be where they sort this out after big declines

Apart from Cal Roberts, when have we spent big?

We've signed players from Eastleigh, Kings Lynn and Boreham Wood mainly. We're much bigger clubs than all of them.

Scunthorpe have certainly assembled a squad that should comfortably be better than most but they do look all over the place off the pitch. Think Chester will be there or thereabouts but other than that it is picking names out of a hat. We are probably weaker than last season (based on ins and outs) but will probably play a little bit differently and have retained enough of last seasons squad to still be competitive
