Does seem rather harsh given the timing of the game when it was called off .

I presume at a higher level there would be more of a push for a more common sense resolution.

Seems to be quite a bit of bad blood between the 2 teams over how the game was going generally anyway .

Apparently it was pretty much the same for most of the half and could have been called off earlier ?
It should've been called off much earlier, just like the Curzon game. Once players are having to chip the ball up and volley it just to get the ball forward then the game is done for.

The rearranged match will absolutely kick off, gonna be reds in that game

Chorley have signed David Moyo (Free Agent)

Announced in post match interview with manager yesterday. Big signing
Really! We released him happily. He was the only player that I ever heard our then manager Kevin Wilkin swear at.

The beeb smelling an upset. Done their homework I suppose because our recent record against lower division clubs in this is terrible, although mostly under Bern & Jonno.

I'm going to call it and say if we lose to Totton Flowers will be out of a job by Monday. It's not just the results but the overall play and lack of anything created that makes it even worse. He has to get it right tomorrow

Please can you hang onto him. We don't need to be anyone having a sacked their manager bounce and getting in the way of our new manager bounce for next weekend.

Apart from a dodgy first 10 minutes.. we made Buxton look very ordinary today.

Something i thought about when searching the back of the Non-League paper for our report of the 0-0 Draw with Brackley.
(The local paper doesn't do a match report anymore)
Jimmy Dean took over as manager in January 2023.
Signed 18 New players.
And in a few months couldn't stop Relegation :woot:
And some even now think he's Stanground's answer to Fergie.
Shambles.

Chorley were made to work very hard to earn a replay following a 1-1 draw away at Runcorn. Very poor performance first half, improved in second, think Chorley will comfortably progress on Tuesday night at Victory Park but could easily have fallen at their first hurdle.

Gloucester City AFC can confirm that Tim Flowers has left his role as Manager by mutual agreement. To give a new manager a fresh start, his Assistant Manager Yan Klukowski has also left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank them for their efforts and will now focus on securing the right replacement to improve our fortunes on the pitch.

Thank God for that. I cannot describe how poor the football was. Gotta get this appointment right now or we're screwed this season

Couldn't you have waited another week?

Meanwhile we have just announced Josh Gowling as manager, with Danny Rose as his assistant.

Danny was with us for a season and a half as a player then player/coach, leaving at the end of last season. The good thing is Danny Rose knows the club, what it's about, and most of the players, so a bit of familiarity there.

:shut:

I hope it works for Gowling but his time at Hereford was not impressive

If you could start your ascent up the table after this weekend's game has been done that would be hugely appreciated

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
What I have never for years understood is the amount of ex conf north managers who have got a second or third chance at this level and yet John Flanagan never got another break after leaving Curzon, the guy literally took a tiny club on 200 fans up 2 levels and make them competitive at this level on a tight budget while possibly at the time playing the best passing game at non league level………not one look elsewhere since.

Unless he has behind scenes baggage or didn’t want to leave manchester, but it never has made sense, always wondered how he’d do with a budget and not losing the best players each summer.

Think every manager always deserves a second chance, sometimes the side you inherit or the atmosphere you inherit can really hinder the attempt considering you get so little time now……tough tough job for him

To be fair, we now know this "200 fans and tight budget" thing is nonsense.

Well not the fans bit, but the tight budget.

Curzon have a pretty reasonable budget - they could out pay Darlo for Jimmy Spencer for example - despite their crowds, because they are very well run off the field and have good income streams to make up for the lack of gate money.

I'm sure I read on twitter that the difference between Darlo and Curzon's turnover is about 100k in Darlo's favour - take our 160k boost the budget out and Curzon's turnover would be higher than ours if what was said is true.

I actually thought that Curzon must be bankrolled by someone, but that's the lazy way of explaining their finances.

So really at lower levels their budget may in fact have been good compared to competitors.
