Next group of games tonight.

South Shields away for Curzon, will watch on TV, tough tough game on paper but we are playing with a swagger at the moment and am hoping Saturday has rocked them a little

We have looked really good at home this year so should be winning tonight.

Got a few injuries though, only 4 fit defenders so fingers crossed none get injured

We've just sold Jacob Hazel to Boston.

His attitude and performance this season has been awful, good riddance. Watch him bang 10/15 in for Boston now.

Our referee for tonight is from Bootle

While I am fairly confident he won't be a Southport fan, feels a bit weird having a ref from so close to one of the teams

Very hard to stream the game at South Shields the picture is dreadful constantly stuttering or stopping.

From what seen so far we utterly dominated the first 20 minutes but just failed to score again. After that it’s been an even batting damp squid but South Shields have done nothing at all.

Ah very frustrating game. On paper a draw away at South Shields is good.

But we played them off the park the entire match and somehow just could not score, we play some fantastic stuff currently just cannot score

Escaped with a victory tonight, we looked poor. Draw would've been a fairer result really. Tried to give Southport a helping hand but putting them through on goal but thankfully Fitzsimons saved us.

Southport set up exactly like every team should against us, every man behind the ball and hit us on the counter. We really struggle against that set up and just seem to pass the ball from side to side.

Disappointed not to get something at Scunthorpe tonight, but we just ran out of legs in the second half and our options on the bench weren't great (one recalled from Bamber Bridge, a right-back, a half-fit centre back and a child). Scunthorpe's goal came from a dubious free kick given for a foul when the ball looked out of play, and we failed to clear our lines from it. No disgrace in our performance, and if Scunthorpe, South Shields and Tamworth are the best 3 teams in this league then the quality really is shockingly bad.

The referee being from Bootle really didn't help us, those South Sefton lot tend not to like us at the best of times!

Finally, Danny Whitehall has half of Steve Whitehall's DNA, but also half of his ability as a footballer. He looks like he's stealing a living.

Absolutely gutted to concede such a late goal after the players put in a good shift with some decent football.

I thought we deserved to win tonight, even though Warrington nearly nicked the game towards the end of the match.

Up next Rushall another 6-pointer!

He'll get you goals , but he'll spend a lot of time on the treatment table.

I'd like to think so but he's knowhere near match fit after seeing him come on in the second half against Warrington!

He was warming up and stretching and I thought to myself fuckin hell don't over do it otherwise you'll be out for a month :ohn:

Great win for us away at South Shields despite being depleted again. They hadn’t lost at home prior to today and barely conceded a goal either. Thankfully the shambles at Darlington a few weeks ago was a one off. Got in front and then just solid, South Shields were a fair bit underwhelming to be honest. Last of six away games on the trot on Tuesday at Rushall to come.

Another good win for us away at Banbury althoigh same issues for us presently with our inability to score nearly costing us.

Id honestly say play wise currently we are best team in the division……we should be top, should have scored 5-6 goals vs Scarborough yet lost 1-0, should have had many more goals vs bishop stortford and Banbury but did at least get the win, should have beaten South Shields 3/4-0 but drew 0-0, should have beaten Peterborough sports earlier in season…….we’d now be top had them results went the right way.

Since that second half vs Chorley in fa cup apart from the Chester game (which I think Mahon bottle as his old club) we create and get about other sides box and goalmouth for fun, create 4-5 superb chances but struggle to score from them.

We play so confident right now but need that killer cutting edge or it will cost us by end of season, but we currently look a title contender.

Circa Brackley 2015-2022. Never scored enough goals to win the league, despite being able to match anyone in the division elsewhere on the pitch - and having strikers who've gone on to play at higher levels. But scoring is the number one 'difference maker' at this level. Sadly, we've looked a lot more average over the last 18 months. PS - how do Tamworth score so many injury time goals. They've won 4 games with post 90 min goals, that I'm aware of. Surely their luck will run out?

Great win over Spennymoor. First half was the best football I've seen all season for us, which to be honest probably isn't particularly hard, but we swept them away and could have been a few more up.

They got a goal back in the second half with an exquisite curling effort right into the top corner and suddenly the game changed. Not long after they got a second and it looked like we would somehow through this away.

However I'll give him his dues, Durrell came on and was a man possessed. As Spenny pushed and pushed for an equaliser, he tracked back and won the ball with a great challenge then went past 3 or 4 Moors players all the way to their box before laying the ball onto Cross to kill the game off.

Long way to go but watching games has actually been entertaining again.

Well Chorley left it to a late late show at Boston 2 down with 3 minutes of the 90 left we pull one back then score in the 7th minute of the 5 added on, it does make up for the fact we were done by a last minute equaliser at Blyth on Tuesday, 3 home games up next including the Trophy.

Ah but that was because you played a style to not go for goals but play for right wins, much like we did last season.

But since Lakeland left, Mahon has gone with an attack based approach and we usually now dominate play and create a lot of chances but just fall short.

I’d say since Mahon took over curzon have played the most entertaining stuff I’ve seen them play at this level but if we don’t find a player for that final part of the pitch we may well miss out on top 7 again.

And no Chester you cannot have Mahon when your manager leaves.

A 1-0 win away at Buxton for us. We scored early on with a goal of the season contender from Mikey O'Neill, and were the better side for a lot of the first half. We got a penalty early on in the second half but sent it wide, and after that we barely had a touch of the ball. Buxton were pretty useless though, just lumping balls into the box as they didn't have the ability to break us down.

Second game in a row we've really got away with one, didn't deserve to win yesterday.

Really impressed with Warrington, probably the best team we've played this season. Thankfully Ross Fitzsimons played brilliantly and kept us in the game.

Its weird in this div this yr. Really looks like anyone can beat anyone on any given day. Just reading the comments on here - 2 sides play against same opponent in consecutive wks and its 'they were brilliant - best side we've played' to 'really easy win - they'll get relegated, as we were barely trying & beat 'em 3-0 ' etc etc. The div placings have spread out v slightly but still we could face an April where 13th could be relegated or grab a play off spot on the last day.

Scarboro' captain Coulson has left the club. From what I understand he was mainly being paid by Flamingoland so with Gordon Gibb taking his ball home, so to speak, will he be the first 'star' signing of their project Field of dreams stadium??

It is a weird league. Kings Lynn and Warrington are probably the two hardest games we've had and they're 21st and 16th respectively. Gloucester also didn't look terrible and they're 23rd. South Shields and Spennymoor were taken to pieces by us and they're 3rd and 6th.

I think Bishops Stortford might be doomed though, they look awful.

I am sure they will blame it on the distances and the fact they have to go “up north”.

Had you played us under Flowers with the Chambers at the helm you'd be saying different I'm sure. We were awful. Since Petheram has returned we've played two and won two.

I find it hard to believe that we weren't one of your harder games. You looked awful against us and could have lost by a lot more. On that showing it is hard to believe that you are up there, but then Darlo fans would probably say the same about us. :)

I found it hard to judge how good you were based on our game because we were so bad, it was our worst performance of the season by a long shot. You didn't really need to do much to win. We were also missing quite a few key players for that game.

Against Kings Lynn and Warrington we played quite well, they were both just better.

Good win against a decent Scarborough side. Great at home, so inconsistent away. If we can sort our away form, we have a great chance to make top 7 with the likes of Lyden, Howkins, Cameron and Williams out injured. Big game Saturday vs Scunthorpe - will be a real test for us.
