Now we know the play off line ups:

Dover Athletic v Forest Green Rovers
Grimsby Town v Braintree Town

Who do people think will win them?

Current odds at Betfred:

FGR 9/4
Grimsby 12/5
Dover 11/4
Braintree 3/1

If you asked me this time last week, after we had been beaten by Woking, I would have said that a repeat of last season was the most likely outcome. I am now far more optimistic and, although not totally confident, have a really good feeling that we can give any of the other three teams a good game and anything is possible.

I agree. I think many clubs within the 'Grimsby reach' would like to see them back amongst the fold - including my own. Lord knows we need some derbies after this season in League 2. However, after watching Braintree against a dreadful Alty tonight I genuinely can only see a Braintree v FGR final - where it's anyone's guess.

Can this be the official thread, maybe change the thread title? Nothing against your title GTFCfish, just makes things simpler.

Anyway, I'm not confident as Braintree are the only team we've not scored against this season. If they play how they did against us in the previous games and look to nick a goal, I think that's us finished. If they come and play, we have a chance.

FGR will coast past Dover; if Dover somehow manage it, it will be the TRUE story of the season.

Fair enough. Title updated.

Grimsby would be best result for us but I fancy Dover to do it.

Form wise, it goes Dover, Braintree, FGR and Grimsby I think. Preference for me would be FGR (£), Dover (miles away), Braintree (we beat them), Grimsby (local game).

Going to plump for the winner of FGR vs Dover.

Is this the first time in recent years that two PT sides have been involved?

Would love either Grimsby or Braintree, so at least one of them is getting to the final.

Grimsby or FGR. The part-timers will get reffed out.

FGR would make the forum sick, and with good reason.

There's something that makes me think Braintree are going to fuck everyone up and do it.

Really hope it's Grimsby purely for the reason it's not far away, although I think it will be the best team on paper FGR.

I want it to be Grimsby but Paul Hurst will find another way to f*ck it up. The Histon Mariners will be inconsolable.

In a perverse way, I deserve it to be Braintree when that happens - after I've slagged off their ground and the pain of our away fixtures with them over the non-league years. They have the best manager by a country mile. Although they were less than impressive the only time I've seen them this season (TV aside), at Holker Street.

Everything points to FGR and a return to the, more expensive but equally good, Fish & Chips and beer of Nailsworth rather than Cleethorpes. Some combination of crap visiting attendances and seaside awaydays in prospect for us next season - FGR (or perhaps Dover or Braintree), Crawley, Morecambe and Fleetwood or Blackpool.
