This McMahon seems a bit of a tit. According to him, he can't get rid of players because of Jamie Day... and now he can't sign players, you guessed it, because of Jamie Day.

I wonder if it'll be Jamie Day's fault if you're not in the play off places at Christmas...

To be fair, he's only spoken the truth so far. Who's going to want to pay over the odds after we've paid over the odds for players who aren't going to be as good as they once were?

With regards to signing players, again, correct. Once people know we were happy to pay the likes of Kedwell and Lewis healthy sums then they'll try and come here for big money too. I don't know exact figures but (and this is me admitting I was wrong) I hear Kedwell is on over 2.5k a week...

He's not necessarily saying it's Day's fault, but more that he doesn't want to spend thousands a week when he can get players on less who are just as capable.

That's how I see it anyway.

Hardly surprising - its a hot bed of Arsenal and Spurs fans (Boreham Wood)

Also if the prices for a Pre-season game are anything to go by far prices will too expensive for a casual fan to go to when they can sit in a pub watching said teams..

With all due respect to both teams and their respective shareholders, directors, senior management, backroom staff, stewards, croissant-sellers and fans... I'd rather hire a Staffie-Doberman cross to chew off my nads than watch either Arsenal or Spurs on TV.

Posted this earlier on the wrong thread. Error of my ways pointed out, and re-posted here.
Gosport Borough have signed defenders Adam Brice (ex-Shots) from Farnborough and (possibly injury-prone?) Ryan Woodford from H&W, and TJ Cuthbertson from Sholing. Andy Forbes has retired but both Mike Carter (MF, former Sholing star) and Andy Robinson (MF and another from Saints academy) have signed new contracts. The experienced Adam Wilde, Steve Ramsey and Brett Poate are all staying. Matt Paterson has been offered a new deal, but has not signed up for it yet. The club have a new striker, Kieran Stephen, who has been signed on a one-year deal from Amesbury Town after impressing in a friendly against Salisbury.

Alex Pike does like raiding players from the Wessex League and other local leagues. Give him some credit, he's been successful with his previous recruitment.

Dean Brennan has said before that Hemel need experience, well they've got that in abundance with their new signings - Matt Spring from St. Neots, Terrell Forbes from Dulwich, John Frendo from St. Albans and Ben Herd from Boreham Wood whilst goalkeeper Jamie Butler arrives from Concord Rangers. Frendo is a strange signing, he'll be on a good wage and did fuck all for the Saints last season.

Joe Ward has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion from Chelmsford City for an undisclosed fee.

Not heard anything our end, re players coming in. Think we only need one or two more but would think Macca would want them in before the training camp in Portugal.

Not sure he can take many players from anywhere else. There's nearby Eastleigh hoovering up local talent and spitting out £50 notes like a leaf blower. Saints may be looking at loaning players from Eastleigh next season.

Whilst Margate sign Solomon Taiwo from Dover. To complete a trio of ex-Luton rejects making their way down to this level of football, Sutton have signed Dean Beckwith from Eastleigh.

Hayes have signed Michael Thalassitis following a year out from the game.

Solomon Taiwo has to be one of the worst players I've seen in a Sutton shirt. His career subsequent to leaving the Lane astounds me

Oh, and LBS have approved our bid to have a 3G pitch. About a week after we tore up the grass pitch.....

I thought Taiwo performed well in a Luton shirt, nothing particularly stand out about his game but he was solid in the centre of midfield. Beckwith on the other hand... carthorse would be the word I'd use to describe him.

:eyes: Thank goodness for that. Our ladies announced the groundshare weeks ago.

Well happy with our three signings so far. Not plucked players from random league clubs in hope they will cut it in non league, we've gone for experienced players at this level and the league above. Happy so far.. the only way is up. Right?

I'm glad Thalassitis has got a club at this level. If he recovers from his injury then Hayes have a fantastic worker on their hands. Half decent goals record too.

TBH I don't think it was ever really in doubt, as we have a good relationship with LBS (unlike a certain over club in the borough....). Also with your ladies, Sutton Common Rovers, and all our youth, junior and reserve teams playing on the pitch (Does said on Amber Planet there would be 4 Sutton teams playing on it on a Sunday, along side AFCW ladies), we were banking on 3g pitch being approved. Not that I'm 100% sold on it yet

£2-3,000 p/w was doing the rounds on Twitter when he signed for Ebbsfleet in January. Joe's post at the top of the page suggests that he's on over £2,500 p/w. Not a bad wage to be living off....

I heard 2.8k per week although could be bollocks. I'd imagine over 2 definitely. Was on 1.5k at AFCW when they got promoted I heard. Will definitely be on more now.

That's the difference between Day and Brown. Brown wouldn't spent over 1k per week on a player. Day probably offered that and more to 5 or 6 different players.

I'd like to say no... but given him and McMahon are probably pals, it wouldn't surprise me!

Works his arse off and chips in. Unfortunately not the 20 goal man you need.

He's a trier, I'll give him that. He'll quite easily get another South Club. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up back at Chelmsford. He will go to another Club and score goals though, you watch.

Yeah I too can not fault Billy as far as trying goes. He gets himself into good goal scoring positions. The problem is he tends to blast it over the bar a little too much for my liking. He should find himself another conference south club easily.

Maidenhead have signed James Mulley, Rene Steer and Josh Huggins. Mulley is someone I think GB would have been after, given we need a winger and he's played for us before (only on loan). Alan Devonshire unsurprisingly is putting a good side together there.

Joe should be able to give a better assessment if I'm honest, mine is off one game.

I didn't recall any Eastbourne player standing out when we played them down at their place. Figured I'd watch the highlights just then for a second opinion, to see if one of their players was performing to a better standard than I remembered live. The answer was no, he played as a number 10, did nothing and was subbed after 70 minutes.

I missed the first game of the season where they ran riot over us in the 2nd half and he played all 90 minutes then so perhaps the game was a one off?

Think I went Eastbourne away, don't recall anybody standing out to be honest.

They've just signed Craig Stone though. Love that man.
