Which team a few seasons ago turned up with a black kit not realising the referee wore black in the NL?

Fully embracing non-league with Macron kits. Haven't heard about us not paying Hummel but have heard the club received lots of complaints about the quality of the adult shirts and how they washed especially.
The official line is that both sides have agreed to end the contract.
The lateness of the kit release is no surprise, I cannot remember at any point in supporting Southend a kit coming out more than a week or two before the season starts. I've always been baffled by this as it's one of the biggest revenue streams the club has.

RE Macron and Washing - the sizes dont seem to be affected by washing, but up until our new Chinese spy sponsors took over our previous sponsors logo (Ifor Williams trailers) would normally not survive the first wash - hopefully your sponsor isnt an iron on thing too

No one can beat our shirt sponsors, the local undertakers.
With your deadly strikers in those shirts, I fully expect your team to cremate this league. RIP Defences.

NB surely Bury should be sponsored by undertakers?

Due to the amount of time you have spent in non league football now Tik Tok seems like the ideal sponsor for you.

You have been out of the EFL for 15 years and a lot of younger fans do not even think of you as a league club in any form. That is obviously a lot of your trusts fault for being so careful and employing managers who played football the same way.
Its not as easy as you might think after all this time away. The financial gap between divisions is huge as you move up. Your new owners are not going to throw the level of money needed to get to the Championship your way. The average wage is crazy at that level. You only have to look at how many big clubs are in League 1and stuck there to see how hard it is now.
As far as Tranmere being on Tik Tok goes its up to them. I am not under 24 so its not my cup of tea.

No-one sensible is expecting us to get to the Championship. League 1 is probably our ceiling unless something drastically changes.

As for younger fans not remembering us as a league club, what does that matter? their ignorance is their problem. If Barrow can make it back after three hundred years then we can after 13.

£2,200 a week in League 2, £5,000 a week in League 1, £29,000 a week in the Championship are the average wages now. Are your new owners prepared to fund those kind of leaps in pay to even get you to League 1.
25 players on £5,000 a week average is £6,000,000 a year minimum if you want to be competitive. TV money is only a quarter of that.
We have part owners from Indonesia who have a multi billion pound company that are not able to fund that in the current situation. You need to concentrate on infrastructure first to make you sustainable. Walk before you run.

To be fair it was a touch sarcastic but it would be good to see Wrexham back in the EFL. League 2 looks more like the NL than the NL does this season and we need some proper clubs back.

Thats exactly what we are doing? we aren't going to buy the league, they've been clear about that. So far the majority of investment has been on the infrastructure (ground redevelopment, sourcing a new training ground, funding the academy and women's team) and developing new revenue streams and properly marketing the team precisely so that in the future its a far more sustainable club at whatever level we end up at.

That is what Mark Palios has spent the last 7 years doing at Tranmere Rovers. When he took over we were very close to being insolvent and now have no debts and assets of £19,500,000 despite the last 17 months. Run it as a business and not a hobby and the future is bright. Grimsby have new owners who are following a similar path. You can still spend on the team but it isn't gambling, its speculating to accumulate.

Its the way to go really. I dont have pie in the sky ambitions, but it would be nice to be a league team again. Having our own training ground and stadium, and a functioning academy, will be a huge step forward from where we have been.

Probably best to wait until you are a league club for the academy because you get no compensation for having players stolen from you outside of it and even then its not much.

Home shirt looks pretty nice though, although let down by your sponsor logo- we had that last year.
