I hope they do a repeat on Sundays like TFLS. And I like Manish, wouldn't surprise me if he left to do the new show, he doesn't do much else on the BBC.

Positives and negatives with this but at least it's being shown at a decent slot...even if people don't watch it at least people will be more aware that it's on. Having a league like the Championship on at midnight was criminal for the drama it produced. Hopefully L1 & L2 get a more equal share now, I've said for a while one feature game from each division would be nice, although that wouldn't necessarily draw in the viewers!

Hope they keep Manish though, I like him. Partner him with Dave Kitson as well who I thought was very good when he's appeared as a pundit on FLS. Hope the C5 Player service is good as well :D

Hopefully that's the last we see of Steve Claridge, liked him as a player but an absolute bellend of a 'pundit'.

No Claridge will immediately make the show 100 times better.

Worst pundit around my a country mile is Garth Crooks. Then it's a toss up between Claridge and Ian Dowie on Sky Sports News.

Claridge could turn his hands to being an agent - no matter the situation at a club its never the fault of the players.

He always made them sound like robots who needed pushing all the time!

Will still watch it - probably record and then run through adverts.

You can tell when Claridge has really researched your club as he will make a few very valid points, but most of it is filling time for the sake of filling time.

Can't say i've watched the FLS for a few years now. As i've said before that our club now puts the highlights up on YouTube so unless we're the 'featured' game I will probably see more replays from the club's source than the program. And won't have to listen to the filling time segments in between.

Definitely give the new show a watch, barely watched the Football League Show this season. I personally enjoy watching Goals Express or watching the FL72 programme on Sky Sports, mainly because Steve Claridge is a god awful pundit.

That will be interesting, can't remember Channel 5 every broadcasting much football so I'm guessing a completely fresh set of pundits, with a special guest every now and again.

Think Mr J Pearce started his TV career on Channel 5 when they had some England games and European games (usually Chelsea?)

According to the Mail they wanted Ian Wright and Stan Collymore to present the programme!

The former refused to work with Collymore though.

I'd rather see them get people who have been famous for their careers in the football league, like guys who have gone through the divisions (Swansea, Wigan players etc)

Was thinking would Ian Wright really know much about the Championship/League One/Two?

Steve Claridge was bad enough and he played in it for most of his career..

Collymore would just start ranting and raving like he does on Talksport.

Yeah the trick would be getting someone who isn't shit like Claridge, someone like Monk would have been a good shout if he weren't a manager, bound to be some around, the likes to Leon Brittain etc but retired. Example from Bristol City would be Louis Carey, record appearance holder for us in league 1 and championship, experiences stretch from champ play off final, league 1 promotion, champ relegation etc. Not saying it should be Carey, but there have to to be other examples like him who could make good candidates.

Only one man for the job, 30 years old and 18 transfers to different football league clubs. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you the football oracle that is Leon Clarke.

Haha have you heard some of his co-commentaries on Radio Bristol?! Carey would be a god-awful pundit

Plus the fact 90% of the viewers wouldn't be able to understand a word he says!

Can see Ian Holloway being a guest on this programme quite frequently.

As for presenter you could bet your bottom dollar it'll be Clem.

As long as there's no FL72 corporate crap in the title, I'll be happy. Fucking Sky and that smug bastard Simon Thomas need to get in the bin for that.

Richard Lee has done a lot of commentary for us and Sky Sports while he's been injured the last couple of years, he'd actually be pretty good.

Saw him on Come Dine With Me the other week!
The step up from Come Dine With Me to football presenting is a hard one I'm sure, a path not many have taken before...

You'll notice I said that don't think it should be Carey, I just used his experience as an example.
