As fellow Pools fans have posted,we need a convining win against Oldham.
We need to return to our passing game & get at them from the off,we did play decent football in spells at Mansfield.
I just don’t think I could take another performance similar to the Scunny game.

Our CEO has tweeted this evening more or less confirming that as it stands, we are on. But of course until we're all in the ground and the game kicks off things can still change!

We've not played for 2 weeks and lost 2 games. We lost our best player Tom James 3 weeks ago for the next 3/4 months and had no proper cover for him at RWB - We was literally going to have to have someone cover there until this game at the earliest as we have no natural replacement or cover. If he is fit I would expect Theo Archibald might play there, but he is more suited to being a LWB, but Craig Clay may also end up there and has played there this season when needed too.

At least we will have Omar Beckles back. Only had 4 subs in our last game, but Jackett doesn't really use subs with us as it doesn't seem to rate our strength in depth - particularly in the forward areas. January will be interesting for us as we need around 4 experienced players to help us through the rest of the season.

No idea what to expect, but from experience though games between teams who haven't played for a few weeks at this level can be hard watches.
Well you tore us apart when we last met, but we've come a decent way since then and our away form seems better than home.

We've had a ridiculous amount of injuries recently + Covid so I have no idea who's fit or not, plus Barton has had 2 court cases in the last month, so it's really anyones guess.

Looking forward to it.

We've a few 'new' cases in our squad, still hopeful of the game going ahead though.

Our game with Leyton Orient is in serious doubt today. Rovers only have 1 fit defender.

Serious question. When clubs say they have - insert number - of players with Covid and ask for a postponement do they have to prove it and they’re not just calling it off because of injuries.

Taking everything into account, the fact we’ve barely been training, haven’t played since the beginning of December, their unbeaten run and especially them coming off the back of that 3-1 win over Oldham, everything points to a Scunthorpe win. Plus the fact they would have beaten us at our place if they hadn’t gone into shit their pants mode late on.

This is going to be a horrific day to look back on in our history and it will mark the full circle of a diabolical 12 months. It will be almost a year to the day since we won at Walsall to begin 2021 top of League 2, to begin 2022 bottom would be exactly what we deserve for the year we’ve had.

Carlisle wins in the last 5 league games - 2
Scunthorpe wins in the last 5 league games - 1

We're in crazy form not sure you'll be able to compete with this L2 juggernaut

Vale off again. Harrogate have too many cases. With Brentford up in the cup next Saturday that’s 5 games off in a row!

A lot of apathy at our end at the moment. A combination of 3 weeks without a game, and a very underwhelming first half of season.

That said, we quickly sold out our full allocation for Holker Street tomorrow, so will have good backing on the day as usual.

1-0 Barrow or we might sneak a 1-1.

Big squad changes required in January to give us any chance of troubling the top 7.

Happy new year Bluebirds and all other fans of league 2 clubs

Shame it’s been called off so late but never mind.

In a way assuming it goes ahead am quite glad our next game is in the cup and not a league game. The team will have some rust to shake off given the length of time from our last game so would rather do it in a game like that than in the league.

We are going to get rid of Cooke, Watt, Sutton, Vernam and replace them with 5/6 players from the National league. We will then win 20 successive games with late goals due to the necks of the opposition CBs and goalies seizing up. Yes, it's new years eve and I'm already on the pop so Happy New Year everyone.

Four weeks without a game going into a tie against a Premier League side… could be fresh or rusty and get walloped!

That said beat Brentford or beat Swindon I’d take Swindon every time in the position we are in so that’s the more important, if Brentford serves as a mini pre season it’s better than going into a league game rusty.

Don't supposed Cook fancies a move back to his native North East? He says wishfully...

I guess you're not on about Andy here?
The way you outfootballed us at VP, he would fit into your team better than ours. Wages might be a stumbling block but time and expense might negate this a little.

Harrogate were off on weds due to covid in our camp.

Both dale and mansfield would have written to have EFL asking for tomorrow off as well presumably.

Harry Smith has suggested on his instagram that he is out of tomorrow, wouldn't suprise me if has covid because he also put on his instagram that himself and few more of our players were at the Darts just before Christmas........So it doesn't take a genius to work out what may or may not have happened!

One of my mates was at the darts earlier this week and within 2 days tested positive for Covid himself.

If Smith is out, we are a bit screwed because Jackett doesn't really rate any of his cover it seems.

A game, a bloody game!
We have recalled a few players from loans and Taylor has registered as a player, so we may be a bit short, but please let it go ahead, as there's no way I will be going to Sutton in midweek.

Hate to break the bad news...but if you go to Sutton on Tuesday you will have gone too far, it will probably be very dark, quiet and lonely...you are playing against us!

Yeah that's a woosh.

We are going to be fielding a very weakened side today because of injuries and covid. Will be lucky to get a point.

I really hope so!

Was back in Bristol for Christmas and the only game I was about for was called off. Then I came back to London and bloody Crawley game was called off, can’t be having this off as well - that’s all my ‘local’ ones at this rate
Orient Vs Rovers off now ffs

He’ll be able to catch our Pizza Trophy game against Colchester though

Matt Gray in his pre-match interview with SUFCTV stated we’ve had a few players test positive with the virus. We still have Craig Eastmond missing via suspension.

looks like any games played today will be a lottery. Players who don't usually make the team will have to step up.

Not saying we won’t compete, but we have the worst team in the league with probably the worst attack in the top 7 tiers of English football. we only scraped a fortunate point against you at home and Hill has made you harder to beat since then so absolutely nothing suggests to me that we can win this game.
