Think they'll pull a draw out of this one. 0-0 or 1-1.

Good mates of ours, West Brom. Hopefully that extends to gifting us a point or 3.

Expected Goals
There we go, Villa go ahead and Newcastle concede within a minute of each other. Leicester also winning, Sunderland won earlier.

Newcastle will be going down this season.

Well that was a terrible game. Newcastle played like a team that had lost 8 in a row and have a shocking lack of quality in their team. I mean, they are so depleted in defence they had to put Jonas(a LM) at LB, Dummett(a LB) at CB and Anita(a CM) at RB. When they went 1-0 down I really thought that was curtains for them, they looked so toothless. But credit to them, they managed to drag themselves level. 2nd half neither side had a truly amazing chance to win it, both teams sort of settled for a point. Newcastle will stay up I reckon, but only because QPR will likely go down tomorrow and Hull have Spurs at WHL and Man U at home to come. I don't see them getting a win from either of those 2.

I see they have followed in Arsenals footsteps and just made up their attendances this season to sound more impressive. I'd say there was around 40k in the ground today, no chance was their just under 48k, only 4k empty seats. Not a chance.

As for WBA, Pulis has already worked his magic on them. So obvious they had come for a point today, so dull, negative and boring. Most managers would have seen how vulnerable Newcastle were and gone for the throat, but not "take a point" Pulis. Named 4 CBs, 4 CMs, a old and past it LM and a big lump striker in his XI. Awful. Don't give it long before the Baggies fans are sick to death of his style of play, he really does suck all the excitement out watching games. I'm just glad I managed to get in for £6 on a reduced price student offer. I'd have been seriously annoyed watching that for anything more than £10.

Oh and I have to say, it pains me to see such a strong and passionate fan base as the Geordies reduced to what they are today. No atmosphere, loads and loads of empty seats. That stadium is probably up there in the top 5 I've been to, amazing ground to watch football in. Shame they don't have the need or ability geography wise to extend the upper tier round all 4 sides to make it a 80-100k ground, it would look amazing.

I think they go off tickets sold rather than the actual attendance. We need a lot less than 40k turning up before Jabba takes any notice anyway.

Speaking to a few Baggies fans on Friday night, it seems some of them have had enough of Pulis already. "We're a footballing club and always have been etc" They were all grateful for him stabalising the club ofc, but nobody wants to watch that every week, which is fair enough really.

Would love to see the ground expanded at some point but there are listed buildings directly behind the East Stand and there's fuck all room to expand the Galogate End. In a way I'd like to see the Milburn and Leazes built even higher just for the giggles :gr: Also, still waiting on the East stand being renamed after Bobby Robson. Wonder what happened to that...

With your wingers I don't think it matters too much who is in charge cos they're your best players, need to be used and that largely dictates the style of play. At WBA he doesn't have wide men. Well, good ones.

R.E. attendances, not having a pop at you, I see where you are coming from, but the way they get these numbers is total bullshit. They should count people through the turnstiles on the day, simple as.

Ha, you know the East Stand is going to be renamed the Mike Ashley Appreciation Stand don't you?

R.E. Pulis and his style, I totally agree with Jim Jams. With Puncheon, Bolaise and Zaha, you can't not play them and they wouldn't listen to Pulis if he tried to shackle them. With Stoke and WBA, they have a lot of work hard players with no flair players. I reckon if they get taken over quickly in the summer, they should sack Pulis and get in Sean Dyche. Would work out better in the long run for them I think. Think Newcastle could do worse than to target Dyche, although not sure how true the Moyes rumours are, think he wouldn't be a bad option either.
