Yeah that wasn't very good defending.

Well Elia looks like another successful signing.

Koeman is just getting everything right.

Southampton must be a fun team to play with on FIFA, Elia has 'dem five star skill moves.

That could have been given.

Southampton are really having to hold on here.

Well. Even without Pardew we are still terrible...

Newcastle are so uninspiring. It's pretty sad how unambitious they've become with Mike Ashley in the big comfy chair.

What's his deal? From an outsiders point of view, it just looks like he has no ambition to help the club progress, but no intention to sell either. Like he gets his rocks off on mediocrity. I just don't see what he's getting out of it.

Seems to have more interest in taking over Rangers than the club with the massive fanbase he currently owns. It must be lovely for Newcastle fans to see Pardew win his first two games at Palace as they inevitably will overtake Newcastle at some point this season. Is there a worse owner in the football league?

He makes a lot of money from shirt sales and other commercial stuff. Also we rarely reinvest money from player sales. Our net transfer spend is the lowest in the PL over the last 5 years (something like -£45m before the summer transfer window)

We had such a good team a couple of years ago. Really miss Cabaye and Demba.

So essentially he's just taking money out of the club? No wonder a new manager [sorry, head coach] hasn't been appointed yet. Who in their right mind would want to work in such a set-up?

Will he able to further his investment in Rangers and also maintain his current position at Newcastle?

It wasn't the best game or the best performance but think we deserved the win. We got lucky with the penalty appeal but I'm certain that Colback handled the ball in the build to the shot that lead to Fonte's handball and that wasn't given.

Essentially yes. Don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful for him coming in when we were in a terrible financial state and backing us back to a sound footing. The problem is now managers are told to lose cup games and all we are to him is a money making entity. It speaks volumes that we didn't strengthen at all after finishing 5th, and have since just been selling that squad off.

I used to like Newcastle, they were the Premier League team I looked out for just a few years ago but SOME of their fans are such idiots they almost deserve to be in the situation they're in.

Let's remember the situation Newcastle were in about 5 years ago+, terrible players, Boumsong, Luque etc, constantly changing managers, I remember they had an absolutely awful defence and a terrible team in general, they eventually went down and got a good manager in and came flying back up, then Pardew came in the season after, I'm sure most Newcastle fans thought this was a bad appointment and wanted to stick with Hughton, they thought Pardew would take them backwards and they'd have to endure more shit like they did just 2+ season ago, but no. He kept them safe, one season they finished 5th and an other season mid table, they were never in danger of going down, and look how they treated him, absolutely disgustingly, and let's also remember he wasn't in charge of transfers.

He was treated badly, but he did deserve the sack on a number of occasions. I won't bother trying to argue with anyone on this, but his tactics were terrible, if his plan A didn't work, we never had a plan B. As soon as we got any injuries our form would be destroyed, and his substitutions never made sense. I don't blame him for players being sold without adequate replacements, but we never should have been in the situations we have found ourselves in over the last few years. This is all without mentioning the unacceptable behaviour he demonstrated on many occasions (headbutts, etc)

I agree that a few years ago we were in an even worse state. Relegation was actually a great thing for us, allowed the club to re-boot a bit, get rid of the deadwood, and start a fresh. However, we had 2 good years back here, and all the problems started to come back. I completely disagree with your statement "never in trouble of going down". 2 years ago we finished 16 and only escaped right at the very end. With the team we had, that was just unthinkable.

I don't want to justify the actions of some fans, but with Ashley in charge at Newcastle, the fans have to shout very loud to be heard.

Now all we are as a club is to make profit for Ashley. I find it unacceptable that our managers are told to lose in cup competitons, especially as a club that haven't won anything in a very very long time.

If Pardew never has a plan B, then why has he won more points from losing positions than any other manager this season?

Ashley is an idiot I know that but my point is Pardew didn't deserve the stick he got.

He got stick because he's a shite football manager, one of the worst man managers I've ever seen in a job, who repeatedly scapegoated fan favourites, constantly insulted our fanbase and treated us like mugs while suckling of Fat Mikes bulging bosoms. Bloke is a c*** and I'm so glad he's gone. Now we just need Jabba to have a deadly heart attack and we're good to go.

Better question for you mate. Why does he constantly find his teams in a losing position?

But surely, a shite football manager with no plan b would be able to turn 0/1 point(s) into 3?

You'd have to look at each game individually I suppose. If his team rescues a last minute point at home to Hull or Palace, is that something you really want to use in arguing for his ability as a manager, or should he be beating Hull and Palace at home? Or do you give the praise to the striker who scored the 2 goals that rescued the point?

Pardew does have a plan B. It's (generally speaking) randomly throwing on a load of forwards and hoping for the best 70/80 minutes in to the game... after it's taken him 70/80 minutes to realise he got his tactics wrong... again.
