Obviously an extremely tough game but it'll be just like us to go up there and put on a show after 2 dismal displays against Barnsley and Rotherham, no shelvey for them is a big boost for us, still I'll go for a 1-1 draw, forestieri for us!

We need a massive improvement on our last 2 games to gain anything, optomist in me says Forestieri could make a difference and we could nick a draw, realistically though 2-0 Newcastle.

We're very unpredictable at home. If teams come to play we seem to be untouchable (3-0 Reading, 2-0 Brighton, 4-0 Brum) but we come unstuck against teams that have nothing to lose (Blackburn, Wolves, Huddersfield (at the time)). It just depends how you set up really but it'll be a good game as we've started to pick up form again with 3 wins last week.

Shelvey's impending ban is still not confirmed and if it is to take place may well not start until the Blackburn game on the 2nd.

Shelvey ban confirmed.

Can see a shock away win, early goal to unsettle the natives and a late second to put us firmly in the top six.

Then I woke up..... seen us win up there just once, back in 96.

Aye still don't know how I feel about that. Still pleads his innocence but has accepted it for pragmatic reasons. On the flip side I gave Liverpool dogs abuse for sticking by Suarez but I like to think there are differing circumstances to both.

I saw somewhere that we haven't won a home game this season unless we've scored within the first 20 minutes. I don;t even think you need an early goal as long as we don't get on either.

Didn't you do them over last season at St James'?

1-1 imvho and that. Wednesday are a good side and I never have faith in us during this fixture schedule. Probably a couple of our lot hungover or suffering from an overdose of turkey.

Think it's going to be a big ask for us to get anything today to be honest, last few performances have been dire albeit coming out with 3 points on both occasions, can't afford to play like that against Newcastle though as we will get punished. With Forestieri back it will certainly improve us going forward but it looks like we could be missing Bannan and Lee which will be a big blow. Have to hope we can keep it at 0-0 and frustrate as long as possible then hopefully sneak a goal in the second half.

Newcastle United 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Good first half, had the better chances and got the crowd riled. Just need to not get a silly sending off and I'm hoping the usual away day doesn't repeat itself, were we miss chance after chance then concede a shitty goal in the second half.

Crap. Our lack of tempo and invention, coupled with the oppositions shithousery, lead to a very frustrating evening.

What a result, fantastic away performance and if being honest we should have won by more. We've hit some real form and that's 3 straight clean sheets, this has a bit of a feel to last season about it now. Dwight Gale is the worst diving little shithouse in football by the way, every time the ball went near him he just chucked himself on the floor. Sam Hutchinson is not human, roll on Preston!
