Too much navel-gazing after the Carlisle debacle; a chance to put things right quickly.

The hosts have been going through a few difficulties of their own, 4 defeats on the trot, manager left, chairman cutting back. Often in the past Rovers have been an ideal opponent to get back on track against in such circumstances, let's hope no longer.

Micky Adams (surprisingly) didn't see much wrong with the showing v Carlisle. Ihiekwe remains injured, making it unlikely we'll go to 3 at the back. It wouldn't surprise me if we started with a similar line-up to the weekend, though I'd replace Power with Laird.

Probably a draw.

Would be typical of us to gift Newport a first win in a few. Newport were one of the worst teams I've ever seen at PP earlier in the season, taking the ball into the corner at 0-0 in the 90th minute kind of summed it up. Anyway, they're in the play-offs and we're...not.

I'd agree with a draw, Donnelly with ours and the hosts with a late equaliser.

They've slipped dramatically, dicked at Cambridge and our place. Reckon you've got a decent chance of a good result.

I thought that against Hartlepool and Carlisle and look how they turned out!

Back to clinical depression at Prenton Park after Saturdays result and although the manner of the defeat is a cause for worry, I don't see any reason why we can't turn it round tonight, providing we learn from our mistakes.

It's a shame Ihiekwe is still injured as we've generally played better with him in the side or with three at the back. Power also needs a reality check after a couple of poor performances and although it seems like a defensively minded tactic, I'd probably give Laird a chance.

I'll predict a 1-1 draw, Odejayi with our goal.

I'm not going to this game, don't have the inclination to either. Hoping for an improved performance from the Rovers midfield. Don't think Adams will drop Power. Think Laird will start ahead of Molyneux though.

Could be a tough game this. As has been said, one of the worst sides to visit Prenton Park in a long time - dirty, horrible tactics - a less refined version of what Carlisle did on Saturday. These are the kind of games we still seem to lose - we can play football with the best of them, but lose the physical battle too often. Dugdale needs to bounce back after some pretty shocking 'tackling' for Carlisle's second and the entire midfield needs a rocket up their backside after their 'efforts' over the weekend.
I'd go 451 that turns into a 433 in attack. Jenno, Laird and Koumas in the middle, Rory and JMW wide forwards either side of Odejayi. Nothing in Saturday's performance suggests Molynuex or Power should start. I'll go a slight defeat (2-1).

0-1 HT. Cheered out loud on the bus when the goal went in. The locals think I'm mad.

Sounded like we were bombarded with long balls for most of the second half. Newport definitely sounded like they deserved at least a point. Tough place to go that, they don't lose at home often. 1-1 isn't a disaster, but we need to win soon as a few of us are getting cut adrift from the pack again now.

I don't think there's that much of a gap...yet. Portsmouth in 16th only a win away.
It did sound rather hairy tonight, sounded like we got battered in the second half. However, I think Micky Adams may need to take a look at tactics and team selection before the York game, as we need to avoid conceding so much possession.
