We won twice between October 21st and playing Cambridge on April 14th. We beat you and Oxford. We've won 3 times in 2015 so far.....woohoo!!!!

Well, under Moore we got 32 points from 26 games which proved enough. Don't think we'll feature down there again next season.

Class manager mate, we would not have gone down if we had not sacked him over a quid

We're not going to win the league so 20/1 or 2000/1 doesn't make any difference, going to be half a new team next season and an entirely new midfield, logic would suggest it will take us a while to get in to our stride. Not expecting anything other than a top 8 finish.

After your suprise conf promotion a few years back i will have a fiver at 2000/1 if your offering, you never know what may happen

I notice some Cheltenham and Tranmere fans saying it would be a poor season if they did not make at least the the play offs.
Maybe want to think again on that, since we were relegated here in 2010 heres how all relegated teams have fared since in their first season in hell:
2011 Grimsby, Darlington -- No play offs
2012 Lincoln, Stockport -- No play offs
2013 Hereford, Macclesfield -- No play offs
2014 Aldershot, Barnet -- No play offs
2015 Torquay -- No play offs, Bristol Rovers --Hallelujah, at last!!
Gonna be much tougher for you than you think........

No-one thinks it will be easy. It's natural for relegated teams to expect to be challenging.

When we were relegated from League 1 in 2003 and 2010 the expectation was League 2 playoffs.

Expecting and achieving are not necessarily one and the same.

To be honest, when we were relegated I thought we would absolutely piss this league!
Then first game we won away at moneybags Crawley which just confirmed to me how easy it would be...... :ffs:

I'd say Tranmere fall into a similar category to the likes of Oxford, Luton and Bristol Rovers size wise. All were very big clubs at this level with by far the biggest gates, which helped them gain momentum in their initial season where they all reached the play-offs. On that basis I expect Tranmere to be up there.

Cheltenham are more similar to the likes of Macclesfield, Barnet, Hereford and Aldershot, all teams who came back down and who aren't particularly out of place at this level. None of those sides made a particularly big splash in their first seasons back. The big positive for Cheltenham though is that they have Gary Johnson, who much like Martin Allen is an expert at turning clubs around and winning promotion, which could make all the difference.

Both have managers who know the division and have recruited well so far. I expect both to challenge.

I hadn't ever looked at it like that and from the above list you have one club who shot through the division pretty smartly on the way down (Stockport), but who have fortunately stabilised somewhat since then. There are also two teams who folded but have since reformed. Judging by some comments from the deepest West Country the future is uncertain for Torquay. Anyone relegated into this division needs to prepare themselves for a dog-fight, plus the stark reality that their stay may be a little longer than they had hoped.

So here we go with little more than 1 month to the start of the season and the odds haven't changed that much with Tranmere still the bookies favourites.
I don't fancy Tranmere to win the title and I think they will be pushing it to make the play offs this time around. The last time Tranmere won a league, Hitler was making preparations to Blitzkrieg Europe and Britain still had the biggest empire in the world.
Grimsby, FGR, Eastleigh and Cheltenham all look better bets to me.

Well I doubt it will be us. But how can anyone even have a clue really about anyone before the squads are finalised and the PSF out the way.

Pretty sure I saw that Ladbrokes has got us as favourites now. Nice Blitzkrieg reference though. If it's any consolation, Grimsby haven't won a title in my life.

1979/80 was the last time we won a title winning the Division 3 title the season after finishing runners-up in Division Four. An amazing last game of the season saw us beat Sheffield United (who feature the to-be Argentina manager Alex Sabella) 4-0. 20,000 of us in Blundell Park that day. Kevin Drinkell scored a hat-trick that day and my all-time favourite Town player Joe Waters scored the other. The players were then carried off the pitch on the crowds shoulders at full-time. Happy, happy days.

Worcester at 50/1 seems odd. Good season last year and have retained most of their squad whilst also adding a few experienced players. Not saying they'll win the league but I'd have thought they'd be in the top half of that.

Maidenhead at 80/1 is a recommended E/W shout. Alan Devonshire has brought in several decent players from Braintree, as well as experienced players from other teams in the North and South divisions.
