No, I will gladly forget his cuntishness like most people seem to do with players when they sign for their club because, you know, 'that doesn't sound like the sort of thing he'd do.

Actually, you're right; I'd like to sign him and bin him in the reserves.

Both frear and Kelly out of contract, wouldn't be surprised if someone snaps up parkin, pipe and Guthrie either.

Mine are
Holman
Ricky Miller
Bruno Andrade
Harry Pell
Kevin Nicholson (manager)

As are Raccine and Clough, but I would be surprised if either are playing in the Conference next season.

My wish list would be:

Padraig Amond
Harry Pell
Bruno Andrade
James Constable
Aaron Downes

Brett Williams back would be a good start (we never replaced him this season)
Mckeown from Grimsby
McNulty from Tranmere (would be good experience alongside Beckles)
Ginelly from Altrincham (I'm pretty sure he was the winger that ripped us apart)
Pell from Cheltenham

Of course, I doubt we have the financial pulling power to afford any of those players.

I think Ginelly is on loan from Burnley - but as with all youngsters there is always a chance he could be released

I think you would struggle to get Constable to join, as he doesn't seem the sort of player to sign for a team just for some easy cash........

Yeah but we already established he didn't quite get the point of the thread.

That said haven't Barrow got pots of cash? Going up this year weren't they?

I think there are a fair few players who fall into that category, loved by whatever team they play for but loathed by everyone else. If you look at goals to games ratios then he does pretty well, put him up front with Amond and I think they would score goals for fun...something that we have been missing of late and, had we had it, might have had us as champions and not our northern neighbours.

Course I got the point of the thread, but really the best five players are going to be the best five additions to any squad...
And yeah, I could see our chairman stumping up a good chunk of cash for a "big" name like Bogle, who isn't an automatic pick at Grimsby. Not saying we will, just saying there's a small chance we could make a move for him.

Certainly none of us said we were going up, but I think many fans will be expecting a play-off push next season.

Seem to remember a thread last season in which people picked a player of the season for each position to eventually come up with a team of the season. Will this be happening again?

I don't think I've saw any Barrow fans saying you'd go up, but your Chairman said somehing along those lines didn't he?

Lady Vale is starting it (one for the L2'ers of a few years back).

I've got a wish for next season, which is less WUMing, we used to be fairly free of it as a forum but it seems to have creeped in again this season somehow, which is especially odd as it hasn't been perpetuated by newcomers to the league (as when Luton arrived).

Rhys Taylor on full contract
Jared Hodgkiss liked him at FGR, to good for Kiddie
Kenny Davis - Braintree
Stephen Payne - Dover
Ross Hannah - Chester
Nicky Clee - Alty
Tom Denton - North Ferriby - no massive talent but big target man and can score, be perfect with Jackson
Omar Beckles - Aldershot
I've gone for a mix of players, Denton a relative unkown scored a few in the national north this season, caused problems in FAT trophy final against us, wins headers, holds it up well. Payne/Davies unlikely but the other are realistic i'd say

Yeah, he said that he's given us a good budget and we should be up there challenging. In hindsight, it seems like he upped the stakes to make it tricky for Edmondson, thus making it easier to justify getting rid (he clearly had plans to bring in a reputable manager, and was kind of forced into giving Edmondson a new contract for getting us promoted - but everyone knew really that he was a Conference North manager at best).
He's said we should be promoted in five years - we're two years in and probably a year ahead of where he planned to be.

If you could pick a maximum of 5 or 6 players from other conference clubs (national, north or south) to be at your club next season who would you pick?

i'd go for;-

Hannah (Chester)
Bogle (Grimsby)
Parslow (Cheltenham)
McNulty (Tranmere)
Sutton (Tranmere)
Astle (Chester)

p.s WISH LIST* not LOST

Understand Hannah, but I think he'll have better options than the arse-end of nowhere (Lincoln?), but Astles?
Grimsby fans thought he needed a mobility scooter on Saturday.

As per GG's post, a CB with pace, a midfield with pace but before that, a midfield full stop. And a left back. A proper, left footed left back.
