Who do you think will get the nod?

I personally dont think it will be either of the names in the hat, as the board will be expected to cough up money, something that was promised to Garde but not given. I can see it being Kevin McDonald or Brian Little, a cheap option from the board, to be honest though if it was McDonald i wouldnt be dissapointed in that appointment, nobody knows the YTS/reserves like he does, so will know which youngsters could possibly do a job during the re-build of the club. Little had his day back in the 90's, never works second time around, surprised Sid Cowans isnt mentioned to be honest.

If i had a choice out the names linked, id go with Pearson or Bruce, i think both would be good for the club and dig hard to get results, both been there getting teams up and having the respect of the players. Moyes who is reported as odds on favourite, id personally avoid, just dont think he is the right kind of manager that we need at present, cant fault the job he did at Everton, but he spent alot, something that seems to go a miss when talked about, he isnt going to have BIG money with us.

Whatever is left of this woeful side come the summer, there is no hope in hell of it bouncing back up, gonna be along road thats for sure, but if we get either Pearson or Bruce i can see things turning for the better as time goes by.

If K.Mac were to get it, he would be put into interim control of the team again. Won't happen.

Pearson/Bruce/Moyes I'd like any of them, Mick McCarthy has become a frontrunner now according to the bookies. I'd rather avoid that, because much as he has a record of getting teams promoted, his style of football is fucking dire, and he has never done well as a PL manager when promoted.

Rodgers is going back to Swansea, Monk I can't see happening, Neville would be just like our fucking club to be honest, Coleman won't leave Wales, and I wouldn't want him to! McLaren I'd avoid like the plague, I also can't see Little taking over for the same reasons as MacDonald to be honest, if he were to have a chance of taking over, he'd be in charge now imo.

I think at the moment it is between Pearson/Bruce/Moyes/McCarthy, all would be solid appointments, but as I said, I'd rather avoid Mick.

Shouldn't this be posted in the championship forum? :p

Being serious I do think Pearson would be a good fit to get the basics in next season and work on promotion for the following year if given the time.

If I were Pearson I'd probably try and hold out for the Newcastle job if they get relegated and Rafa jumps ship but after that Villa would be a decent option for him.

can't see Bruce leaving Hull, not at this stage of the season, and even if they don't get promoted, why go from the stability he has at hull to the circus at Villa park. I also wonder if he holds any state in his birmingham legacy...probably not but some people might.

Pearson would be best for Villa. McCarthy would give the rest of the midlands a giggle. Carver....:)

Hell i don't live that far away, i'll give it a go.

I imagine it will be Pearson which would be a good appointment for a rebuild. As long as the board and fans have patience anyway. For the inner sicko in me, I'd love to see it be Carver as I enjoy a good laugh.

Too be fair, no dig, but Woodison is the worst ground in the league, needs so much doing to it, so run down. I used to think Selhurst was a shithole, but Everton tops the lot.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
I see today Villa supporter groups are calling for a protest at our game on Saturday, in the shape of all of them remaining the concourse and not taking any of the home seats until 7 minutes into the game. That would be most surreal, to play the opening 7 minutes in front of an empty Villa Park. Will be interesting to see if it gets off the ground and actually happens.

I dont see the point in protests if im honest, i find them cringe worthy and very pointless. No point in holding up banners, or walking out on certain minutes, that aint gonna get you anywhere, Lerner is never around to see these things anyway, he has only attended a staggering 12 games since he purchased the club, so tells you how much time he spends in England, all business is done over Skype, complete joke.

The board couldnt give two hoots about these protests, or the players for that matter - the club has already netted money from the season ticket holders, the players know their gonna get paid every week regardless the results, they couldnt care less. The only way to hit it home is not to go all together, avoid buying merchandise, food, drinks, parking, match progs etc etc - but lets face it that aint gonna happen, so i dunno why people are moaning and still lining the pockets of these leeches, just accept it and get on with it.

On the other hand, I'd rather they didn't fucking go, don't line the Yank wanker's pockets.

What are the chances of Lerner selling the club when you go down, better or worse?

Surely the price would have to come down and by quite a bit? Could make it a bit more appealing to suitors.

Nobody in their right mind will touch the club.

If nobody wanted in while in the Premiership, they aint gonna want it while in the Championship

You'd think, but considering there was a widely rumoured bid of ~£150million last season some time that was turned down, I'm going with no.

I never quite get the point of protests from football fans. If you think what's going on is shit, don't go. Don't get me wrong, I do feel for the fans, but I don't understand why you'd pay however much it is each week when there's no pleasure to be had from it.

And Villa isn't a bad prospect for a potential new owner. Big city, big stadium, there's a lot of upside to the club. They just need a major clear out and to try and get the fans back on board. Won't be easy, but there's obvious potential there for the right price.

The problem with Rodgers is that we need a entirely new squad, and I don't believe he has a good track record with recruitment. Unless he wasn't the one responsible at pool?

'Apparently' he wasn't. But then, neither was Sherwood for the recruitment here, whether that will change now or not remains to be seen.
