Nick who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma ( a rare form of bone cancer ) at the end of last season has now made a statement of where he has been forced to retire from football. I know we signed Nick from Carlisle United but I believe he also played for Barrow as well.

Yep very unfortunate news, I thought he was a good player and still had a good career ahead of him. But the most important thing is that he beats this illness and can enjoy life.

Gutted for the lad, having to cut his career short. We're at Barrow tomorrow, would be nice if the two sets of fans can drop any perceived hostilities for a moment to pay tribute to him.

We have had a minutes applause for him in the 16th minute from the day it was announced. ( 16 is his shirt number ) Also the Tote End boys have collected at various advents for him with the latest being in May. I believe the guest speaker is Ian Holloway . Also Yellow bands have been sold including Ashton Gate where the City fans gave generously. And the new stand we are building in the summer will be named after him.
